Why can't I post attachments? AKA, How in the hell do I post a picture?

Simple answer - you can't post attachments.
We turned off attachments so we don't have to host files.

To post a picture.
1) Upload it to one of the free image hosting services such as imageshack, picassa, photobucket, or imgur.
2) Find the url of the picture, usually they have it off to the side or below the picture in an easy to copy box.
3) Copy the url of the picture.
4) Come back to your post, and click on the http://cdn.shaggybevo.com/board/images/editor/insertimage.png above the box and paste the url in there.
5) Submit your post.

But, can you explain why some threads appear to have attachments as thumbnails? Personally, I blame Chad Briscoe.

When I try to view the pictures, it says I don't have permission. Does it take 30 days, some magical post count, or something else to view thread attachments?

Quick answer: Shaggybevo doesn't let anybody upload attachments.

Longer answer: The 'attachments' in that thread came from tapatalk (a mobile app used to read the board), and tapatalk allows users to upload pics to their servers when they're posting. In that thread, for a little while at least, either the poster or tapatalk screwed it up. Either way, they seem to be working now.
