ok, i had the shitty 12th pick in a 12 man league and ended up with larry johnson and peyton manning at 12/13. brady, romo, TO, and moss had all been taken. anyway, fast forward to round 10. jay cutler is still on the board so i grab him as a backup/trade bait.
as soon as brady went down, i offered cutler to brady's owner for steve smith. he declined the proposal.
now, he wants to complete the deal.
do you guys think that's the best i could expect to do for cutler? getting smith would make my team better. my current WRs are plaxico, coles, desean jackson, and anthony gonzalez. my RBs are LJ, graham, and ricky williams. the first two weeks i have started ricky in the slash position, but obviously cannot do that again.
i dont think trading peyton is a good idea, since his value is really depressed at the current time. so, should i pull the trigger on the cutler for steve smith deal, or try to rework it? just feels wrong to trade the overall yahoo leader (coming into tonight) for steve smith. but having two top rate QBs is retarded, and cutler's value will probably decrease.

I don't think this performance is an anomaly for Cutler. I don't really like it. I see your problem with Manning's value, but maybe someone in your league will be blinded by his name. You need help at RB worse than at WR imo.

i wouldnt give him cutler for steve smith straight up either. if he still wants cutler, make him give you more. fuck him for saying no the first time.

You should be starting Cutler anyway

This. LJ isn't going to bounce back. His team is just bad, and if you can't get it done against the Raiders on the ground, you can't do it anymore. Ricky won't do much of anything at all this year. And lastly, Graham needed a 4th quarter long run for a TD to save his value this week. Warrick Dunn is stealing carries and even stole a red zone TD from Graham.
Find an owner that needs a RB and make that deal. And not just any RB. There has to be someone in your league that has a glut of talent at the position. Get a top tier guy.

I don't think Smith makes your team much better unless he can recapture past glory. As another poster noted, you need a RB much more than a WR. Of course in a 12 team league, few owners are going to be selling RBs. Is anyone RB heavy?

I realize that I'm probably the only one who cares, but just in case anyone was wondering, I ended up getting chris johnson for cutler.

Am I delusional for thinking that this is a reasonable trade. I am offering:
Whitten and Roy Williams
for
Gonzalez and Plaxico
The guy I am trying to broker the trade with is deep at WR, has coles and bowe on the bench and I have Sheffler on my bench to step into Whittens place. Its a PPR league.

I think you did okay. I have Johnson and he's going to bust loose this week against the crappy Texans defense.

Its good for right now.
However I have a feeling Roy gets traded in the next few weeks and goes on to put up huge numbers. Detroit will figure out, if they haven't already, that they are not a playoff team. They will probably decide to get something draft pick wise for Roy rather than see him walk this winter for nothing.

Just got offered Lee Evans and Chris Cooley for DeSean Jackson. My only hesitation is that Jackson has put up really good numbers so far WITHOUT scoring a TD yet. I don't get points for return yards so I am strictly worried about receiving here. Philly plays in a pass-happy offense so even when Brown and Curtis come back he should get plenty of chances.
My other TE is Heath Miller and I have Santana Moss, Roy Williams, Laverneus Coles, Bryant Johnson, and Chansi Stuckey as my other WRs. Should I take it or leave it?

Did I just get the steal I think I did?
I get:
Cutler and Ronnie Brown
I give:
Jason Campbell and Jonathan Stewart
Campbell was my starter (yeah, I know,) my other RBs are Westbrook, T. Jones, Chris Johnson, and Ricky.
My only real weak spot was my QB.

Sounds like that guy got faceraped. Cutler should put up big numbers week to week. And Stewart still doesn't have the starting job. Cutler + Westbrook + Johnson sounds like a strong core to me.

The Bills schedule is pretty easy this year and Lee Evans has had two steady games so far, and you know he's going to get into the endzone, especially as Edwards (Great pick by the Bills a few years ago) continues to mature this year. Who knows what will happen with Jackson when Reggie Brown and Curtis come back. Plus he's an asshole.

OK, different league than the one above. This is my big one, 100 dollar, league.
I am 1-2. I have big problems in the running game, that may be solved if Fred Taylor can produce like he did yesterday, but we are in a QB friendly league, and Matt Hasselbeck isnt cutting it.
I get:
Kurt Warner
Donald Driver
I give:
Matt Cassel
TJ Houshmandzadeh
