Question about Stubhub/other online ticket brokers

What happens when they dont sell the tickets to a particular event? Do they just eat the loss? Do they dump the tickets on local scalpers?

The Cubs brokers here in Chicago eat tickets a lot. In the longrun, they're better off sticking to their guns and taking the short-term losses since it allows them to keep their price ranges stable. If they drop their prices right before first pitch then everyone will just wait 'til the last minute and call their bluff. For marquee saturday afternoon games here during the summer, they will still be charging 2X face value for tickets even in the 5th inning.

That said, fuck the Cubs.
