I'd be very surprised if Fisher plays VY. It looks like he's more concerned with sending the message that this is "his" team and "he" is the boss than he is with trying to find a way to turn this team around.

10-11-2009, 09:38 PM
Weren't you the guy claiming that losing Haynesworth wouldn't be that big of a deal for the Tennessee D?

I openly questioned how good he would be when he was not playing for a contract since there is a HUGE difference in his regular production compared to his production when he is playing for a contract. Lo and behold, Big Al has his money and he is on pace for a whopping 3 sack season after posting 14.5 sacks the past two seasons when he was playing for more money. Remember that the last "non-contract" year Haynesworth played was in '06 when he just 2 sacks on the worst defense in the NFL.

The game was lost when it was 3rd and 19 and they got 16 yards on a pass and chose to take the yards over the 5 yard penalty and try again on 3rd down. You can not beat the Colts with field goals.

last week he was talking about Woodson as a rookie with the Steelers ligfhting him up when he was in his twilight years at Cincy. Said he knew his time was getting short, then.

Collingsworth was a good WR, that helped lead his team to the SuperBowl. I know both of those premises are difficult to imagine...

(not saying, just saying. and not blaming VY, because he was basically just thrown to the wolves so fisher could say, "see?!? that's what you want?!?" and so he could play collins again next week with a clear conscience)

Why the hell wouldn't they go for it on 4th and 3? Let VY try to make something happen, what's the worst that happens - you lose? You're already down 31-9 with under 6 minutes.

And I would just like to reiterate, for the 14,347th time, that I thought it was common knowledge that whatever team drafted Vince would have to completely retool their offense. The fact that he hasn't had success in the Titans offense should surprise no one with an IQ over 70.

yes it was. The Titan wrs have been dropping the ball all night.

VY should have started the second half, IMO if he was going to play at all. He had no chance to develop a rhythm with the offense tonight. Nothing was accomplished by putting him in at that time of the game, IMO.

I am a VY fan, in that he is one hell of a football player to watch.

The apologists on the other hand think he can do no wrong and anyone that says otherwise is a heathen.

on the contrary. fisher put vince in, he was predictably ineffective in a late game situation, and now the MF can say he gave him a chance.

he ran for a first down and his WRs dropped some passes.

It would be one hell of an "INCOMPLETE" if I was grading out Vince.

That was hardly a legitimate chance.

Not his fault, either.

you aren't. fisher is. he put him in. he got one first down and two balls off indy DBs. he threw him to the wolves. he did it on purpose, and probably out of spite. fuck him.

(and i'm not entirely sold on fish either - but that was entirely political)

The difference between those two situations is huge. People made character judgments that were simply unfounded with Crbtree. There is a body of evidence with Vince.

In all truth, I'm probably way more defensive about Coach Leach, which JTK loves to give me hell about. If I was like the VY apologists, I'd be saying Harrell didn't get a shot at the NFL because people didn't like him. It's stupid, but so is much of the bullshit said about the VY situation.

Was that before or after he fumbled the ball at the end of the game when nobody even touched him? Or has Collins just been so fucking atrocious all season long that I'm getting his horrendous performances mixed up?
