^^^The only glaring oversights in the rc/pop era imo have been letting Sjax go and gifting Scola to our division rival in favor of Slowberto/assorted garbage. Very possibly cost us a 4-peat.
But I am persoanlly loving the $#@! out of our young guys, especially Green and Leonard. We chose not to extend Anderson today for chump-change, so he obviously hasn't gotten over himself yet, and will most likely not be a spur for long.
Who was the last highly coveted FA to sign with the Spurs? I mean, besides when TD's contracts were up. Might have been Derek Anderson.
And Anderson left as soon as possible. SA is not exactly a Mecca for free agents. Look what happened to Houston once Hakeem retired.
Derek Anderson was having an amazing season with the Spurs, then Juwan god damned Howard cheap shotted him with a ridiculous flagrant foul on a fast break to practically ruin his career. Anderson was easily the 2nd best player on the team, and looked like the perfect replacement for Sean. Who is to say he wouldn't have stuck around longer if he had been able to live out those playoffs with us? $#@! Juwan Howard.
He was never as concerned about winning as he was getting paid. He was going to the highest bidder. IIRC, he got a good offer from the Spurs but left to make a little more for the jailblazers.
The Spurs are going to have to get lucky in the lottery again...and even then they will have to get the right guy that doesn't care about the bright lights or about being a global icon. They got lucky twice with David and Tim. Robinson never had to play a minute for the Spurs, but he isn't the flashy type and liked the city. Timmy could have left if he wanted but he was the same way.
Eh. Derek leaving was the perfect opportunity for Jax.
They couldn't keep both Manu and Jax. I believe they offered Jax a nice contract and his agent poopoo'd it.^^The only glaring oversights in the rc/pop era imo have been letting Sjax go and gifting Scola to our division rival in favor of Slowberto/assorted garbage.
What a $#@!ty, $#@!ty game. Tony ball hogged and took $#@!ty shots, Tim should've taken the night off, Tiago didn't get the ball enough, Kawhi didn't get enough playing time, Joseph got too much, Danny green needs to stop taking such $#@!ty shots, and Matt Bonner needs to fall off a tall building onto RJ killing them both. I can't decide which one is the most worthless player I've ever seen. It's a $#@!ing toss-up. I've never seen $12 million look so detestable. $#@! both of those pussies.
twolves are 4-0 vs dallas and san antonio.
wow. all 4 pretty convincing victories too.
this is awesome <(:>
Letting Jax go was a colossal $#@! up. They could have signed him and Manu. He $#@!ing signed a 1 year deal with the Hawks for $1 million. They were just afraid to repeat the mistake they made with Jaren Jackson after 1999, when he had a huge playoff run and they gave him a big contract. And then he promptly went to $#@!. The Spurs didn't want to give SJax the years that he wanted, especially after he pouted and acted like a bitch during game 6 of the 2003 finals. Of course, the difference was that Jaren Jackson was a 10 year vet journeyman on about his eighth team and SJax was a 24 year old who had barely any playing experience. There is zero doubt in my mind that they win rings in 2004 and 2006 if they signed SJax. $#@!, they should have won them without him.
I thought Anderson was going to turn out to be one of those "finds" SA comes up with on occasion. Not so sure now. Pop won't wait forever for a kid to start contributing more than what he has to date.
Go Spurs Go! $#@! the Mavs, especially Jason Terry.
love that post 1st qtr interview with pop. very detailed.
"we gotta make shots"
"we gotta score"
I love Gregg Popovich interviews.
3:23 mark is pop, but damn this guy scoops callahan is genius.
Who's this Pam Ward wannabe???
Need a strong 4th quarter here. Nice to see their lead down to just 5 now.
2 point game. Spurs bench taking over. Keep it up!
Pop cleared the bench down 18 and now we're up 7. Not sure I've ever seen that.
Need some good ballhandling, good shots, good rebounding and good foul shooting from here on out. Duh.
$#@!. Come on now. Don't let them back in this.
god damnit bonner is probably responsible for more and1's than any player in the nba. $#@! him.
what a crazy $#@!ing game.
$#@!ing hell. I hate that son of a bitch Terry. 0.5 left. Come on Red Rocket!
