New York Knicks center Tyson Chandler has been voted as the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year, according to a person with knowledge of the award results.
The official announcement is expected to come from the NBA later Wednesday afternoon.
Chandler has been arguably the most valuable player on the Knicks' roster this season. He is the driving force behind the Knicks' turnaround on defense.
Hopefully Trix gets some 1st team love. His play during these first two games only reinforce his candidacy.
I know Chandler is gone and he isn't coming back but I still haven't come to terms with it. This news isn't helping. I totally agree with ^ Trix definitely deserves some recognition for his defensive prowess.

The award, designed to honor a player who best represents the ideals of sportsmanship on the court, is voted on by NBA players. Kidd was selected as a regional finalist last month along with leveland’s Antawn Jamison, the Los Angeles Clippers’ Chris Paul, Miami’s Shane Battier, Minnesota’s Luke Ridnour and New York’s Jeremy Lin.

Earlier today we gave you a sneak peek at a pair of Bespokes made for Dirk Nowitzki, celebrating the realization of a dream he had fourteen years ago. Not only did he realize his own dream, he capitalized on a dream that all NBA players have – winning the Larry O’Brien and getting one of the most ornately designed Championship rings in history (having Mark Cuban as the team owner will do that). Nike Sportswear presented the Air Force 1 Bespoke, designed by Nike iD designer Israel Matteo, to Dirk in a hand-made wooden box built by actual NBA court hardwood with Nike’s special message to Dirk engraved on the outer face of the box. We’ve got more on this sick 1-of-1 made for NBA Champion Dirk Nowitzki below so take a look and let us know what you think of the design

Those kicks are badass, and well deserved. Dirk went through hell and back to capture his first title. He never gave up on his dream, and most importantly, he didn't sellout and try to find an easier way to make it come true. Nice to see Nike recognize that. Love the Dirk Jumpman logo by the way.
