Artest has been suspended 13 times. It's the tail end of his career, so I'm cool with a lifetime ban at this point.
hope LA loses in the first round in 6 games.

That's about what I figured he'd get. Thought it might be somewhere between 6-8 games. I knew it'd be more than Bynum's suspension.
I wonder what a player would have to do for David Stern to suspend him for the rest of the season?
Probably would have to be something dealing with Zyklon-B and an oven.
And that would probably only get 8 games.....
When has a player ever been suspended for an entire season due to a blow over the shoulders?
I hope no one on the Ban Artest train are Houston Rockets fans.
Conan sympathizes with Artest. He had a similar incident a few nights ago while celebrating a good joke.
It depends on what team for which they play. Stern is a fraud.I wonder what a player would have to do for David Stern to suspend him for the rest of the season?

Triple-double for the Big Fella with that last block. Impressive all-around game from him today.
Lake Show looked damn good today.
The first Dirty Triple in NBA playoff history for the Lakers, probably Hakeem is the only other player to do the same since they started tracking blocks.
A good win. I hope Mavs-Thunder turns into a 7 game slugfest, so that the winner is beat up by the time we play them.
I want this series to go at least 6 games so Metta is back for the start of the next one.
I'd rather have a sweep and some extra rest for the whole team. Jordan Hill is doing just fine with Ron's minutes.
So i guess Bynum is now a future Hall of Famer. Just like Gasol.
Is Hill really getting Artest minutes? I thought those were split between Barnes/Ebanks. Hill is taking McRoberts/Murphy minutes.
Another solid performance by Ebanks & Hill tonight. I was a little surprised Denver made it so competitive towards the end tonight, but good to see the Lakers hold on. Won't be surprised if we're back in LA tied 2-2. Gotta love the fast start by LA tonight: fast break baskets, Kobe dunking, & Gasol hitting long jumpers makes us pretty tough to beat.
“I improved his move. I can shoot mine from the three-point line. He can’t do that… Dirk does it well, I do it better. Mine’s a little sexier.”
Looks like we have that team north of the Red River in the 2nd round. We don't have their athleticism (Shocking I know.), but if we run everything through the post and Bynum plays MVP caliber defense, I think we can win that series. If Bynum doesn't play great on the defensive end, well, I don't think we'll do real well.
I think we beat Denver in 5 games and have to play 1 game in the 2nd round without Ron-Ron. We need him for this series. He'll take the matchup with Durant personally and won't get embarrassed for an entire series. Durant will probably have a game or two where he goes off, but I think Artest can do well enough to limit the damage from him.
Thunder in 5 would not surprise me one bit. They are a bad match up for you guys. Probably the worst in the league. Russell Westbrook was just relentless in that game, OKC has one of the few teams in the league that can match up defensively with Gasol and Bynum, and KD is a better/more efficient scorer than Kobe. Role players for OKC are better than LA's role players.
IF yall would have ended up in the 4 spot I'd have expected you to beat the spurs, but this match up just doesn't work for LA, imo.

The Thunder is green, they might have made noise last year but they are nowhere near the vet squad that is LA.
Don't dismiss hunger and experience that easily.
I say this not as a lakers hater. I've enjoyed watching Kobe and like watching greatness in any form. I rooted for the Lakers over the Celts, and the Magic, and definitely would over the Heat, or some team that would not be particularly interesting. They just are not as good, and even the experience part isn't all that- they have 3 or 4 guys that have been through the wars, and that's it. OKC will roll them- just watch.
They won two games at home I would not call that pushing anything.
As for Lakers haters, the world is a better place the more of them there are.
Much respect to the Lakers to claw back after down 24 when not even making layups, even if they lose and die on the court from altitude sickness they are giving it all.
These are the type of games from the big men where I always wonder why people think this franchise would be in good hands with either one of them. Bynum going through the motions, Gasol, mentally, just not in the game whatsoever.
JaVale's mom is in the game.
Just out of curiousity, was any of the Laker fans on here expecting a win tonight? I know I wasn't. We have been terrible in Friday night games in Denver. I figured this wasn't going to be all that close. I was surprised that made that run to get back in it. I expected a loss so I was kinda meh about the game. It's one less game without Artest in the 2nd round so that's cool with me.
Yahoo! Sports had the Lakers on their homepage earlier today as the team to beat in the Western Conference. Slow your roll, Yahoo!. Slow your roll.
