    Schafer having a great spring, but he will miss the next few days after he sprained his hand yesterday making a beautiful diving catch. 9/23 with 10 runs scored, only 2 strikeouts to 4 walks.

    At this point, I think the following position players pretty much have their spots locked down, barring any significant injuries:

    Lee, 1B (8/22, 5 doubles, 1 HR, 5 RBI)
    J.D. Martinez, LF (9/24, 4 doubles, 1 HR, 9 RBI)
    Schafer, CF
    Lowrie, SS (8/22, 6 runs, 4 walks)

    i'm curious to see how we handle catcher, with snyder (.353, 2hr) and castro (.389) both having nice springs. q only has a few spring at bats, but he's gotta be the odd man out assuming we don't hold three.

    I don't see any way they keep 3 catchers. If Castro's healthy, he's the guy. I'd go with Snyder, he's younger and a better hitter. Q's defense is good though. Could boil down to whether Snyder would accept a minor league assignment.

    Is there any evidence to suggest Dallas is a front runner town? Surely almost every team draws better when they're having success, but there's no indication that Texas is any worse than anywhere else. For the amount of success the Rangers were having on the field in the 2000's they drew alright. The Dallas Mavericks even drew pretty well when they were having the worst decade for any franchise in the 90's. And the Cowboys always sellout even when they suck.

    So I call bull$#@!. Just a bitter argument to throw out when things aren't going well.
    In 2007 the Astros finished well under .500 and in fourth place in the NL Central -- after finishing one game over .500 in 2006.

    They drew more fans that year than the Rangers have ever seen. The Astros have broken 3 million fans four times (all since Minute Maid opened). The Rangers never have.

    The Rangers $#@!ed up by building the Ballpark in Arlington. They should have gone downtown.
