It sounds like it's just a portion of the collection, so hopefully they are going to be rotating and preserving.

By the way, while this is not directly related to the Slaughter Lane location, this montage, which I saw while I was down in San Antonio and is substantially similar to the montage I saw when in Austin a few weeks later, is one of the reasons I love the Alamo Drafthouse:
Just want to give props to the incredible customer service at Alamo Drafthouse after the fact. They responded to the survey they sent me via email and went above and beyond all expectations to apologize for the poor service and did more than enough to make it right. Customer service like this is what makes great companies stand out from the good ones. I look forward to seeing another movie there.Went last week to see hunger games with the wife....arrived 30 min early, no waitress. Got 20 min into movie and finally was able to flag someone down for our row....then she lost the order and we had to reorder. Finally get food with little time remaining in the movie. Pretty $#@!ing pitiful. Kind of chalked it up to the newness but we were not happy.
That's one of the best parts about Alamo to me. If there is anything that doesn't go right, or isn't up to their standards that effects their customers, they will pretty much do whatever it takes to make it better to keep their customers. A few years ago I was emailing back and forth with a lady at the drafthouse about renting a theater. In one email after going over business I mentioned I just got back from a movie. When she responded the next day with more info on the rental she also asked how the experience was, just to ask. I responded with how often we go and whatnot, but said that the waitress stood next to us and was watching the movie a lot. So just told her it might be a good idea to remind the waiters just so they don't piss off any non-normal customers. She immediately responded asking for my address so she could send me two raincheck tickets and a food voucher, just cause. Pretty amazing.
Both times I went to Alamo Slaughter there have been kids in the theater. When did that start?
the new tables are pretty cool. a lot better than the bars at the other locations.
Just wanted to give my 2 cents after my 2nd alamo slaughter experience on wednesday. I want to preface with that I love the drafthouse, have a been a bi-weekly movie goer to both the ritz or south lamar locations.
Slaughter has some huge issues that I hope they fix soon because I want to love it. Most of the issues I encountered have been addressed on this forum before, it just looks like they are not being fixed. On my first visit (which was 2 weeks after they opened so I gave a pass to the problems) we were not greeting by a server for 20 minutes. ordered beers, they were brought to the table beside us, they drank them, hell i would too, order them again with some chips and queso. got the beers chips, but, whoops! no queso! our entrees were brought out and my wife did not get the correct one, no one came back to check, even with a flag raised, so we ate it after 10 minutes.
On my 2nd visit this week the box office girl told us the theater was seating so we walked towards the theater, right before we got to the door an employee snapped at us that it was not being seated, snapped so much that my wife apologized(thinking we had broken some huge rule here), I let the employee know we were told to go in and she did not respond at all. $#@!ing awkward. got in finally, still not greeted for 20 minutes. ordered 2 beers. we got a tea and a water. after 10 minutes the waitress responded to our flag, added hummus and 2 entrees to the original beers we ordered, 5 minutes later my wife got her beer, me, not so much. 15 minutes after this the waitress comes up to me and says the reason I have not gotten my beer is that they have 86 it. all i could say is "really?", told her to bring something close. long story not so short, never got the hummus and entrees came out a few minutes before they gave out checks to audience. $#@!ty, $#@!ty experience.
on a side note I saw it was mentioned here before, but I agree that the new table set ups are not my favorite. It's not closer but I'm going back to the s. lamar location from now on, they are not being trained properly at slaughter
Haven't gone to the slaughter location yet but that post scares me. Not getting my beers timely is no bueno
Yeah. Still some issues. Last week we made a last minute decision to go to a movie. 30 minutes before start. Because of this, I bought reserved seats online, knowing that the theater would be seated already when we rolled up 5 mins before start. Seats were decent. We get there and somebody is in our seats, with drinks and appetizers already. They told us that the staff had put the reserved signs in the wrong row, so they said to just pick a seat in any of the reserved rows. We ended up in the very back row on the aisle.
It wasn't that big of a deal because it was a small theater, but they need to get their $#@! together. I keep hearing complaints from people.
Guess we were just lucky - been twice, no issues with service speed/quality, staff was friendly, movie technical quality (sound/picture) was better than other Alamo locations, and have never been more than a dozen car-spots from the front door.
We *like* the new seat layouts - keeps people from having to either walk over you or slide out from underneath the tables when they have to get up during the movie to go to the bathroom.
tl;dr version: It may be hit-or-miss, but it's not *all* "miss".
Every time I see this thread, I think there was some type of Columbine incident at Alamo.
I saw Avengers there this weekend, food was better than on opening week, there were kids there but its about what you can expect from the suburbs. Waiters still seemed like it was their first day. I will say reserved seating was awesome, hooray 1%
just took my mom to the breakfast at tiffany's brunch there on sunday. i had no complaints other than they didn't turn the courses around fast enough, and the movie ended before we had our last course out. they just put the pre movie stuff back on again and we stayed to finish our food. it wasn't a huge deal but i can see that they might have some time management issues to work on. the food was fantastic though.
Went back this weekend as the wife wanted to see Dark Shadows...No complaints, I think they have finally gotten most of their $#@! together. Well, I guess the compaint would be the two hours I wasted watching Dark Shadows...no more movie picks for the wife.
West last night. Our drink order was taken as soon as we sat, which was nice. However, it took FOR-E-VER to actually receive said order. We ordered food and same thing, took forever. Flag didn't seem to get any attention. Service was very sub-par.
I liked 400 Rabbits, though it was smaller than I expected. Liked the lobby area. If the service improves, that location will be a nice experience.
Parking was atrocious. Had to park way on the far end of the shopping center. Didn't mind the walk, but I imagine it could have been thought out a little better.
Too lazy to read, but why did they change the design? The servers are on the same level as the customer (unlike other Alamos).
Instead of tables that cover 4-6 seats, there are 2 seats per table and I think there was a drop off where the waitstaff walked. I liked it.
