i say got damn
Hold on. Were those high school football teams? Incredible speed and size on both sides.
I think Torrodney just became my favorite recruit.
Appears athletic and quick. I'd like that next to our crew of big nasties just fine. Who does he favor and where is he originally from?
Haven't had a good Rodney in the Houston area since Rodney McCray or James Rodney Richard.
Why hasn't this guy been getting more attention? He seriously reminds me of Jadeveon Clowney. He's not quite as freakishly dominant as Clowney, but he's tall, fast, and powerful, and blowing up plays in the backfield constantly.
We're not gonna get him cuz we don't play DJ Screw over the loud speakers at our games, and with him being from H-town...he will take that as a big diss.....and with a name like Torrodney, I doubt he will like that fiddle $#@!.
35 ish on 247 list. Everyone just offered - ou, lsu, aggy, and Texas.
that is one quick defensive end. damn.
UT, OU, Baylor all offer DE Prevot
Torrodney Prevot (Houston, Texas/Taylor) scored a huge trifecta Thursday.
The talented defensive end woke up Thursday morning with three offers. He scored three more within roughly a 90-minute span by early Thursday afternoon, as Texas, Oklahoma and Baylor all put themselves in the running for Prevot’s services for 2013. Prevot had offers from LSU, Texas A&M and Utah, which he picked up earlier this week.
"It's amazing," said Prevot, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound end. "I'm just trying to stay humble and keep focus."
Baylor was the first to offer late Thursday morning. Oklahoma offered quickly afterward. Texas then offered minutes after that.
Of the three, Texas and Oklahoma seemed to spark Prevot the most, although he is quite intrigued by Baylor. He has been a longtime fan of the Longhorns, and he has had the utmost respect for Oklahoma for several years. Defensive ends coach Oscar Giles has been Prevot's recruiting contact at Texas.
"The city of Austin is amazing, and I've always liked Texas," Prevot said. "It used to be my dream school. I've always followed Mack Brown. The coaching staff is great, and I would love to see them grow in interest."
He then added something special for Longhorns fans.
"I like the color of burnt orange," he said.
As for Oklahoma, there's a high level of admiration for the program and what it has been able to accomplish. Prevot has been in contact with Sooners defensive ends coach Bobby Jack Wright. Prevot likes the fact that the Sooners have won seven national championships and are constantly in the running for a national title.
"Oklahoma is a terrific team. I would play there. The interest is definitely there," Prevot said. "We will see the best of what they have to offer and see what I can offer them as an athlete."
The wildcard of the trio is Baylor. There's a lot about the program that Prevot doesn't know -– other than the fact that the reigning Heisman Trophy winner played there -– but he's willing to learn and wants to hear more from head coach Art Briles and his coaching staff.
Prevot said inside receivers coach Kendal Briles has been his primary recruiting contact.
"I've never been to Baylor," Prevot said, "but I have heard of the interest this past summer. Up until then, it hadn't been that serious."
The winner of the Prevot sweepstakes will get a player who uses his quickness to his advantage against larger defenders. Prevot, who runs the 40 in 4.5 seconds, was an all-district selection in 2011 after recording 53 tackles and 12 sacks. Because of his speed and awareness, Prevot is being looked at as both an end and an outside linebacker.
Whatever the case, he's just happy to get looks -– and he's hoping more offers will follow.
kid has a high motor and seems to not quit on plays........making the tackle on a WR screen was enough for me.
Anyone buying 220lbs? Kid looks super skinny, but also looks like he could add a good bit of weight and be a real baller.
Slow down on the Jadaveon Clowney stuff. C'mon son.
I like that production against that level of competition. Name is also awesome.
Ya, why is it not anymore? Because we had a couple down years? Come on man
Maybe Rod Wright can help pull TorRodney - Alief connections and all.
It's amazing how much it has changed in the last 30 yrs. Somebody was just asking me about Funplex the other day - I said you mean Fame City. Had to look it up now and see that...
Beechnut Oaks acquired nearly eight acres from Houston Waterpark Associates for the development of a senior apartment complex. The vacant land was home to the former Fame City Waterpark at the northwest corner of Beechnut and Eldridge.
Oh the memories...
What about Sesame Place?
Woah, nostalgia blast there.
Yeah, recalling that one hurt my brain.
He's like a hybrid of Lawrence Taylor and Demarcus Ware, only better.
I thought Mack didn't offer unless you came to JR day. I guess he was a late bloomer on their radar?
With a name like that you can't pass up on him...
Man, Torrodney and A'shawn in the same class would be tits. Torrodashawn.
How do you say the name? It's French right, so ....Tour-rod-knee Pray-voh?
Confirmed that hes skipping a track meet this weekend to attend JD2.
His teammate just committed to a&m, but hopefully getting an offer from his dream school outweighs that
I remember when player highlights were uploaded to YouTube where people on mobile devices could actually view them. Those were the days.
