a RB from Cibolo Steele? i like our chances.
Gewhite Stallworth from Houston Reagan 6'8 335 as a sophomore good god
I believe Darrion Johnson is the younger brother of brenhamhorn, a poster over at 24/7. I'm sure he'll shed some light on his recruitment throughout the process.
Wasn't there supposed to be a third Hughes whom was better than his two older brothers?
James David is legit...we we want him we need to show as much love early as we can.
I love that aggy has already offered some of these kids.
Some info on the #1 player Hoza Scott...2 older brothers. Yusef and Gainus both attended Arizona. Yusef spent some time in the NFL.
This kid is special.. Took over the game as a soph in LaPorte's upset win vs Katy in the state playoffs this year. Was a man among boys. Hope we can land him.
finally somebody from nacogdoches!!
is hoza scott a texas lean?
I like Tony Upchurch out of Dawson. Thought he showed more than White in the games I saw last year. Think he could be a good D1 player somewhere.
who is ut's top rb target for 2014?
I saw Byron Daniels, the SA Madison wide receiver, play last year. Dude is legit. Another 2014 guy to watch out for is RB/WR Jaedon Taylor out of Harlingen South. I know he won't get any respect since he plays in the valley but apparently the guy is the next Mishak Rivas.
It's nice as a fan that we get an opportunity to familiarize ourselves with some potential targets this early, but to put them in some sort of list is pretty dumb in my mind considering they can't get these right when they have the benefit of watching everyone as a senior knowing who has targets from which schools etc. Prolly 50% of these kids will be MIA from the LSR by the time 2/2014 rolls around
Is this name for real??? Whoa.#35 Lorenzo Joe ATH Abilene, TX Abilene Cooper 6'2" 180
Oh and BTW, we're doomed because aggy has offered every kid back to 2017. And they claim Mack Brown is the early recruiting master. HA!
Bush High making an appearance @ QB. Oh the magic of making the playoffs for the first time in school history to remind college coaches your school actually exist and has players.
Hoza Scott is quoted as saying
"[Texas A&M is] where I've been wanting to go to since I was a little kid," he said. "My pawpaw has been telling me a lot about it for a long time and my pawpaw's cousins, they go there and they said it's real nice there. When I visited yesterday it was really nice. I liked it a whole lot."
Maybe he was just impressed with his first offer as a sophomore.
Anyone have any idea about Varshaun Nixon from Lake Travis? Every time I hear Lake Travis, I have bad flashbacks.
The good news is that this class is DEEP with DBs as we will need to load up next year
Let's get # 15 on that list. I have watched Perine play and he is a beast.
The top running back is at Lake Travis? That's good news for Iowa.
Scott liked Sherm, doesn't sound like he's as high on the Aggies now. Especially once LSU and Bama come calling.....
Kid has some impressive YouTube highlights. Looks like Deoundrei Davis except he's just a soph. First highlight shows him skying on a pass rush and snatching the ball in midair not maybe 10 feet from the QB. Looked like a minimum 40 inch vertical.
Gotta get him to camp with us this summer and get the wheels rolling.
Potentially good DFW-area district match-ups:
Jake Oliver (TEXAS - WR - Dallas Jesuit) vs Cedric Collins (DB - Skyline)
Kent Perkins (TEXAS - OT - Lake Highlands) vs Victor Evans (DE - Skyline)
Dorian Leonard (WR - Longview) vs Charles Grant (DB - Mesquite)
Will Taylor (TE - Trinity) vs Sekou Clark (DE - Denton Ryan)
Early "I-hope-these-fall-on-an-away-game" wish list:
Trinity vs Denton Ryan
DeSoto vs Timberview
DeSoto vs Arl. Martin (pre-district)
Arlington Heights vs Aledo
Jesuit vs Lake Highlands vs Skyline
Rivals has their 2014 rankings out before ESPN has their 2013 rankings. That blows my mind...then again I'm new to following recruiting so its probably a normal occurance
He good, wouldn't have a problem if they offered him right now.
Watched the kid, Jaedon taylor, this past season as a freshman...he held his own in starting position on Varsity. Amazingingly, he had the speed, strength and ability to play both O & D nearly equally well. It was crazy to see a freshman be a driving force on the team. I can't wait to see what the new coach has in mind with this kid. Talk is kept pretty close to the vest. He is definately one to watch for the next 3 years...Already has a RIVALS profile, that was posted over a year ago! South Texas players may not get respect, but I am sure this kid will make us all take notice and earn it! Should be an interesting season to watch for the #24 of the Hawks. Im a new fan for sure...
Didn't his uncle or dad or grandpa go to aggy? Seems to be aggy's to lose.
regarding hoza scott, everybody has him as massive aggy lean, but note he hasn't even visited any other schools yet until his recent trip to austin as he has recently disclosed. so he has spoken highly of college station in the past, but i have a feeling that sentiment will change after visiting austin and other subsequent schools.
