Ha! Cowboys picked up Darrell Scott.
Crap -- can the Mack Brown Curse rub off on others?
Vontaze Burfict to Cincinnati...honestly, who didn't see that coming?
I don't get why guys forgo their senior season only to go undrafted. Why not wait? They are getting a free education. If you leave early, and fail at football, you have nothing to fall back on. Darron Thomas left Oregon early and if he doesn't make a squad, what's he going to do?
Take a look at this beast the Cowboys picked up as an UDFA:

Adrian Hamilton, 6'3" 255, 4.8 40, 20.5 sacks, 26 TFL's, 6 FF's, 81 tackles, 2 PBU's last year, albeit for Prairie View A&M, but kid looks really athletic and has remarkably fluid and explosive movement. Level of competition surely drove down his stock but I would have at least spent a 6th rounder on him just based on those highlights and overall productivity.
What you did there has been seen by me
There are reasons.
- Worried about injury, and losing out on big NFL money (Kelly Washington).
- Know they suck, don't want to be exposed by one more year in college (Katzenmoyer).
- Personal reasons. Dislike their college coach, etc.
I don't understand what you're saying. The education can always be had. The opportunity doesn't disappear once you declare for the NFL. If you want to argue scholarship (money) and tutoring (also money), then ok but let's call it that.I just don't see why guys get so short sided with the education part of it.
I get all that and I think it makes since to leave early if you're going to be a high pick, but Darron went undrafted. I doubt going back to school would drop his stock further than being an undrafted guy who still hasn't signed with a team. If he doesn't make a squad, then he ends up with no money. Now, he's out of work and has no education to fall back on and is no longer eligible for a football scholarship.
Assuming that the guys who leave have a prayer of graduating, a B.A. in a bull$#@! football major from a football factory has very little value.
