afc 2011 regular season sacks allowed:
#1 Buffalo :: 23
(69 qb hits)
#9 KC :: 34
(74 qb hits)
I do not see KC with a better runnig game than Buffalo. Fred Jackson was leading the league in rushing yards when he injured his leg and was done for the season. CJ Spiller replaced him very well and now we will have then both healthy.
Also, Chna Gailey loves to spread our offense in the shotgun, i think VY can do very well in his offense.
rumor on the bills board is that a contract will be offered today, but like its been mentioned here, Vince is still looking at other teams so he may not sign right away..
I don't know exactly what situation would be the best for Vince, but VY and JC together in the same backfield? Sploosh!
If we are looking at the same board, KC is the other team and supposedly he is planning to visit them over the next 2 weeks. At that point Buffalo will have their answer.
Likely message board BS, but I'll take it. Would love to see him land at KC. I'd be fine with Buffalo as the consolation prize.
why would Vince or KC wait two weeks? Off season programs are underway. The sooner he signs, the better off everybody is.
I don't believe the two weeks thing. If KC were interested, he'd be there today.
Not that it's important but VY is currently in Austin.
I don't think it's unreasonable to wait 2 weeks. You have to get several people together, especially receivers, etc. These guys aren't just sitting around in KC waiting to catch passes. Likely they're all over the place. Schedules have to be coordinated, etc.
Remember, all this Buffalo stuff was not to be signed to the team, but rather be asked to camp this summer (though I guess it'd be possible for them to sign VY and jettison Thigpen, but that would be pretty damn $#@!ty on their part). If he "passes" the tryout, he'll be invited to camp to compete for the backup spot. If not, he won't.
Really, he's got 2 months to do this stuff until the start of most NFL camps. Doesn't have to be 10 days in a row.
I tend to think Buffalo will "sign" him to a camp contract. What the $#@!'s the loss? If not them, then some other team. This isn't a 1-year commitment, just for now a 2 month (max) one.
Bull$#@!. Offseason workouts are going on at every NFL team's facility. Colt is in the Brown's camp. Vince threw with the Buffalo guys that are working out at that facility. And Steve Breaston has been at the Chief's facility every day.
He needs to sign immediately, and start learning the new offense. Two weeks is a long $#@!ing time to wait when you're switching systems.
The team doesn't need the backup QB up to speed on their offense ASAP? And how does any team benefit from waiting to sign somebody that they are interested in? If I'm a GM and I identify a free agent that I like, I'd rather sigh him sooner, rather than wait and possibly lose him to another team.
what exactly are you arguing? what shoudl happen or what is happening?
no one cares what you would do if you were the gm of a team.
or are you saying that it is not true that he excepts to work out for a team in the next 2 weeks?
I'm saying the following: I have serious doubts that KC has real interest. I believe that IF KC was interested, they would have him in quickly, as I see absolutely no benefit to doing something in two weeks that could easily be done today. I would love to be wrong, as I would like Vince to be able to choose the best situation for himself, and not "settle" on the only team that offered him a deal.
Again, I hope that I'm wrong. I just don't see a NFL GM calling an agent and saying "hey, we're interested in your player...we'd like to bring him in a week from next Tuesday for a visit".
fair enough. Curious as to how it could have shaken out though. I would have expected that the Bills would have contacted Vince's people, and said "we're interested in meeting if you're interested". Seems there would have been a general discussion of what it would take to get a deal done at that time, assuming the workout went well. I wouldn't think they would get all the way to Buffalo to find out that Vince wants 5 million and Buffalo is offering the minimum, or something along those lines.
I doubt money is the main issue. Vince wants a shot at starting. I don't know if that's a reasonable expectation in 2012, but he probably thinks it is.
Vince is part of a public service campaign aimed at HS kids, encouraging them to go to college.
David Nelson wasn't joking. Freakin' look at him!!

Hopefully the hammy is good. He seemed a little hampered running last year in Philly.
