I'm on the fence. I really think Mack would be gently nudged into retirement at the season's end if we continue the trend of ugly, uninspired performances. Even if we win out, the university is clearly embarrassed. For that reason, I'm halfway rooting for our opponents to make it a close game, except for those KSU power towel $#@!bags and their Texas kryptonite. I'm counting on Snyder to really go in dry and rough. I figure if this is already a down season, we may as well net some positive change for the future.

Yeah Tech tards are unbearable when they beat us. I can't root for anyone to beat us. Ashamed to admit kinda. I guess the good way to say it is either we get our asses horsecocked raped or we win surprisingly well. I don't want to wade through Mack's bull$#@! about how we're shutting up the "fake fans" or whatnot after looking like $#@! but winning. However if we nut up and start playing well, I can live with it, because I see no way, none, that both Harsin and _iaz stick around, so Mack will be in deep $#@! anyway.

Have seen enough to know where Harsin and _iaz are getting tired of Mack's $#@!, and both being young and with a career ahead of them, won't put up with it. Plus our recruiting and/or player development is being exposed as fairly $#@!ty.

So if losing helps expedite things, go with it. But, it's very tough to just sit here and root against my alma mater. Like a poster said somewhere last week, I feel like I came after being raped by Helen Thomas or whatnot.

Yeah, this getting wins now to spare immediate embarrassment is putting band-aides on bullet holes. Win or lose, this program is already an embarrassment so it's a horse apiece either way if you're awake to what's going on.

After the OU game, I said I wanted Baylor to beat us at home. I figured 3 straight losses to Baylor would be hard to defend. When the game rolled around the following Saturday, I couldn't bring myself to root against the Horns. So yeah, I've been rooting for us each week, with the uncomfortable thought in the back of my head that each ugly win will give Mack more job security. Ugh.

As for Tech, I live in Lubbock, so I really hope we find a way to win. Tech fans have been pretty mellow the last 3 years, but they're starting to beat their chests again. A win over Texas would make that much worse, and a loss to Texas would probably shut them up for a while.

The KSU game is a different situation. My logical side will be rooting for KSU because they currently seem like the best non-SEC team with a chance to win the title. It's always possible KSU loses a game before they play us and that argument goes out the window, but in that situation, KSU and OU would both have 1 loss in Big XII conference play, meaning a Texas win over KSU could give OU another Big XII title. So it seems like either way I'll need KSU to win that game.

I should add that if we are going to lose games, a blowout loss is probably preferred. Mack tries to defend the close wins/losses by saying how tough the Big XII is and making each game seem like it should be hard-fought down to the wire. There's a lot less he can say after a blowout loss (like OU) where it looks like the coaches and players gave up. Texas should never get blown out by anyone.

It's admittedly a tricky thing trying to root for the team but against the head coach; I'm not sure how to do that but I want to because, as a fan, I'm offended at Mack's bull$#@! and insults.

I never go against my team, but in a losing situation I sometimes find myself hoping that the other team will pile it on thick enough that the TEXAS powers open their eyes to the real problem, which often evolves MB's inability to prepare a D1 program.

Right now, with the Horns I feel almost like I'm watching my 2006 Astros. They'd been very good recently, but the rapid and extreme dropoff in critical areas of performance had me wanting them to blow it all up and start over. Yeah, even fresh off a World Series. I see our current situation in Austin as being quite similar. Otherwise, you risk years of misery, a la the current Astros. If you care about the long term, I see no sense in wishing for any outcome that helps Mack's chances of surviving. Sad to say.

Similar thoughts except that I'd rather see a 55-52 win. If we have some low scoring games to finish the season, then Mack will try to say the defense has been fixed and keep Diaz around. I want to guarantee that Diaz is gone so that at least we have some hope for next year.
