In some countries it might take several thousand dollars to re-locate the dog. Poor pooch probably won't be so lucky.
I assume Gregory no longer has crappers without any walls like they did when I was there. When I was in that part of the world I did have 2 walls and a door, but unfortunately the door was like 3 inches from my face when sitting. Not sure why the crapper had more space behind it than in front of it. No pictures of Indian toilets on their trains?
Wow! That is truly a gargantuan $#@!hole. I can't imagine how many millions in under the table bribe money that the OC took for awarding Sochi the games.
This thread has gone straight to the $#@!ter.
And seriously, WTF is up with the mass scale littering?
Does Russia not have $#@! shelf toilets anymore? I was $#@!ting pure spaghetti onto one of those in Russia after a stomach bug in 93. Fun times.
Putin may be the worst thing to happen to Russia since Stalin. What a $#@! show.
It's interesting to see how at the very least Putin gets $#@! done. I'm no fan but some of us wonder at the success of oppressive autocrats like this guy. He gets things done.
Contrast that with the >10 year odyssey required to rebuild the WTC. At the 10 year anniversary there was just a hole in the ground to look at. The Empire State Building was constructed in just under fifteen months. But nowadays you have so many irrelevant bureaucrats meddling in the process that it's virtually impossible to "get $#@! done" the way Putin does. I'm not saying be like him but there's got to be a happy mediumand you have to have a begrudging respect for that fact that he accomplishes many of his objectives where Americans can't.
I'm not going to neg rep you, but come on. Peter the Great built St. Petersburg in a swamp. When he needed fill, he threw a bunch of workers in the hole and filled over them. Are all these Sochi buldings built to code? Worker safety? But they're all fast and impressive.
It saddens me the awe Putin inspires in some Conservatives. Dude is a $#@! of the highest order.

U.S. Olympic athletes are being warned not to wear their uniforms outside the games venues in Sochi because of fears of terrorist attacks in the southern Russian city, according to senior officials in the Obama administration.
I would warn them not to wear those uniforms if they ever want to have sex again.
Pretty good stuff here . . . Aussie course contractor blogged about $#@!ty conditions and sketchy pay arrangements. Removed his blog and the skipped the scene.
Don't bother with the original links. Scroll down for his original post.
A $#@!ing gangster is what he is. If you had the Teflon Don running a country, it would look like Russia. Obviously, corruption has always been an issue with them but Putin has turned it into an art form.
For all the talk about our crumbling infrastructure, look around--it's actually pretty good. LBJ up here in Dallas is being built in just five years; you can walk around virtually everywhere in a city of any size and get a good cell phone signal. The internet is ubiquitous and we have the world's best civil aviation network. Go take a look around Russia. Hell--just look at a map. Look at the enormous areas that are not served by any road. Not a freeway, mind you, just no road. There are vast areas even in European Russia that are simply not accessible by paved roads.
The only thing Putin's Russia does efficiently is corruption. That's it.
He's also pretty good at killing his enemies and making our President look like a little bitch, but yeah.
For the 1st time since 1984, I'm gonna watch the Olymics; hoping all the $#@! we suspect will happen, actually happens.
Sorry for taking your words literally. Don't know you that well. Just moved you out of the Rich and Smooth column. Carry on.

It reminds me of bars that do that to dissuade you from pooping.
I'm hoping for an all out failure in Sochi. $#@! russia
Does the American public even care about the actual games in these Olympics? Every article I come across is focussed on their anti-homosexual propaganda laws or their shady corruption.
You had multiple governmental entities, each with their own separate agenda, overlapping authorities, and no way to force agreement. You had lawsuits and arbitrations that delayed the process. To my knowledge there was no environmental issue, although I know that that can be an issue in private real estate transactions. The terms of the arbitration have remained mostly private, but buried in bond documents filed by the Port Authority, the site’s owner, is a suggestion that if no satisfactory settlement emerges after the first round, Silverstein Properties will undergo the lengthy process again, seeking damages in the billions of dollars.
“Absent a settlement, the Silverstein net lessees plan to commence a second arbitration in which they will show that the Master Development Agreement was the product of the Port Authority’s negligent misrepresentation and/or fraud,” a bond document filed in the fall and examined by The Observer says, “in which they will seek an award of monetary damages, including rescission damages totaling at least $2.75 billion, which will be dedicated to the project.”
If Russia has no building codes and uses slave labor, those seem like broader issues. Is it in fact that case that they used slave labor and ignored building codes? Is this common knowledge and if so, are the buildings dangerous? I'm asking if this is true as I have not heard either of these things.
The people who like to throw around terms like "crumbling infrastructure" are called Democrats or civil engineers - they just want money. Everyone else realizes our infrastructure is world class. I mean, Detroit, Cleveland, large parts of New Jersey, and most of upstate NY are $#@!holes, but building more roads there ain't gonna fix $#@! when people don't have jobs to drive to.
Saw a headline today that there are no homos living in Sochi. Good to know. I think I'll move their so that all the homos around here will stop sucking my $#@!.
That imgur link is $#@!ing depressing. I've been to the Olympic Village in Beijing and it's $#@!ing amazing. It's enormous, and gorgeous and people still visit it as a tourist attraction. Sochi looks like olympic games that Jeff Foxworthy would be the commentator for.
Meh, it's only the Winter Olympics. It's not like its the real Olympics.
