I chose to kill the slavers at the Lincoln Memorial.

It was quite easy. I used a stealth boy, ran around and pick-pocketed every single slavers ammo. Then when the stealthboy ran out they couldn't shoot at me, so they just ran at me trying to punch me and I wiped them all out no problem.

I'm heavy on small weapons, sneak, repair and explosives.

I'm maxed on energy, repair, and sneak. I have high speech and explosives. I almost exclusively use the laser/plasma rifle, since I can always fast travel to certain locations for Enclave troops. I'm level 19 presently and rolling around with Charon. Nobody can touch us. We just rolled through the deathclaw sanctuary like a couple of pimps (Charon is sporting Tesla armor and an assortment of weapons).

After I get the level 20 explorer perk my goal is to kill everything in the game, good or bad. I already completely euthanized underworld, paradise falls, oasis, and several others (the game won't let you kill children, though). My karma stays high because I am really good about getting pure water to the beggars, and because turning in fingers gets you a good karma boost. Plus Charon does a lot of the actual killing.

Dogmeat is banished to Vault 101. I spended too much time re-loading after he kept getting killed by radscorpions or whatnot.

yeah, I figured out pretty early that dogmeat is useless once you get higher up and get a fighter companion. I leave him in megaton at the house. i got him a dog bowl and left a pile of mutilated skulls on the floor for him to play with.

I am looking forward to the third add on, so that we can level up to 30.

Who here prefers Fawkes over Charon? Fawkes has a nice weapon and is more durable, but Charon is more aggressive and will go after anything within earshot. I'd go with Charon any day of the week.

In terms of character development, I put everything into energy weapons, repair, lock pick and speech. I don't need to be stealthy when I'm zapping people/creatures with Vengeance or the alien blaster.

My game glitched and after I bought Charon's contract he stayed in the exact same spot in the underworld and I didn't have any dialogue option's for him.

Fawkes is a badass.

You can equip Charon with power armor and his shotgun never degrades and never runs out of ammo. His perception is great, too, as you will hear his knife come out whenever enemies are around.

I have been Lone Wolfing it this time and relying on Speech whenever possible (focusing on Speech, Small Arms, Medicine). Only about midway through.

After this time i want to either run through again as a retarded brute or do an old fashion sneak/lockpick/repair

Medicine is great early on, when you need as much as possible from every health stim. But then when you get 1/3 through, and you have 200+ stimpack, it is a little worthless. There are like 2 quests where it matter with dialogue I think.

I finally got my hands on this game. I haven't been addicted to a video game in a long time, so long that I can't remember the game.

Just like old times, staying up until 2am, playing again at 8am. I love it.

yeah sadly, I have found that out recently. Game starts getting to the point where it basically throws stimpaks or caps at you to buy stimpaks.

I have been going hard at this and am absolute evil, showing no mercy. The only thing that screws me up is the deathclaws and multiple giant scorpins. Does anyone have a good weapon or scheme for dealing with them?

Do you have A3-21's plasma rifle yet? You get it in Rivet City for doing the Pinkerton/Zimmer android quest.

Does it use regular plasma rifle ammo? How does it compare to the Alien Blaster? I took out 10 Enclave soldiers at the Jefferson Memorial in ~1 minute with the Alien Blaster and a couple of Fat Men.

A3-21 uses regular plasma rifle ammo and can be repaired with regular plasma rifles.

My character is currently rolling around as freddy krueger. Deathclaw gauntlet, the hat, the sweater, and the ghoul mask. The deathclaw gauntlet is the $#@!.

The Alien Blaster is the best gun in the game. It's in a crashed alien ufo by the power station.

Actually, the Firelance is better. It's a unique named Alien Blaster that also does fire damage, and it scores a critical hit nearly every time. Uses the Alien Power Cells for ammo.

You find it with a random event. While walking around in the wasteland in certain areas you will see a flash in the sky and the sound of a crash. Once that happens you just have to look all around the area until you find the Firelance sitting on the ground with some ammo around it.

Amen. I've got A3-21 Plasma, Lincoln's Repeater, Xhouwhositcalled's Chinese Assault Rifle, Victory Rifle, Wazer Wifle, and the Smuggler Somethingorother. With Charon as back-up, no one touches me.

yeah, but it isn't coming out for a while. Pitt is coming out next, pretty soon. Then the cap buster is out months after that i think.

This game is gonna end my marriage. I'm playing it for the 3rd time.

The first time I just ran through the main quest, ignoring everything else. The second time I downloaded a map of the interwebs, compared it to the Adventurer perk (which was supposed to show all the undiscovered locations) and thought I had found everything, but in the third go-around, I'm finding un-marked tunnels and doing all the side quests.

I got pissed at Tenpenny's security chief for mouthing off at me so I killed him before killing Tenpenny. Guess I screwed myself on that mini-quest, but he shouldn't have been such a smart ass. :P

I finished the Shoot 'em in the Head quest and gave Mister Crowley all the keys. He's supposed to get the bad-ass T-51b armor and I plan to kill him for it. Has anyone gotten it yet?

Looks like you will have to play it a fourth time. Instead of giving him the keys all you needed to do was go use them at the location and you can get the armor. Just got it myself.

I also, I never noticed just how short the main storyline of the Fallout 3 is. Nothing against it all, I know the game is more about breadth than Depth, I was just very surprised by how quickly you can bust through the main quest (i'm on the second to last already).

No, you can pickpocket it from him or kill him to get it.

I'm trying to do all the side $#@! as well. There's a pretty good weapons cache in Fort Independence, which is where the Brotherhood Outcasts are. I'm basically wandering through the wasteland and exploring everything; I'm too afraid to go into the Deathclaw sanctuary though, I need to get all the badass weapons.

What custom weapons have y'all made? The Shishkebab is fun for melee.

The Deathclaw Sanctuary has about 5-6 of them inside. Do you have the Dart Gun and Bottlecap Mines? With those, Deathclaws are like shooting (Well, mining) fish in a barrel.

Anyone have Operation Anchorage?

I installed it yesterday, walked around for an hour, went to sleep in Megaton, got close to where the Red Racer factory is supposed to be, and NOTHING. Read from a bunch of forums that it's kinda buggy that way. Anyone else have problems?

I'm going to start playing this again. I have only gotten so far as to leave the bunker, but I've done it a couple of times, b/c I've wiped out my hdd and haven't backed up my games. Does anyone have a save game they can send me from about that point?

Awesome, I finished OA in a few hours and am anxiously awaiting The Pitt. It's about time for another play through, which will be my 3rd.

I've picked it up but I much prefer the Reilly's Ranger armor. DR is almost as high and the AP and Luck modifiers are awesome.

I prefer the Outcast Power Armor, looks cool and gives the same perks as the brotherhood armor. I've finished every side quest, can't wait to get The Pitt tomorrow. Interesting comment about marriage, I've been playing non stop since after my wedding in January, but my husband has not played at all. I think I'm up over 80 hours at this point

Finished my first game last week and immediately started a second one. I was so disappointed that it ended so soon. For the second one, I created melee character using the shishkebab. I'm selling all the guns and ammo.
