During this tour, we just jept talking about how there's no way in hell we could imagine seeing all of this stuff, and meeting Mack, and not commiting on the spot. Hold on a sec and I'll post a few more pictures. Oh, and I cannot believe I forgot one of the cooler parts of the story. So Mack walks in, and we had our backs to his door, and then we heard him speak. So we walk over to him, and introduce ourselves. Mack goes and mutes the TV that was on, and says something to the effect of making it personal. He then says, "Close door." His freaking big ass door to his office proceeds to make a "click" sound, and proceed to close itself. Antwan said that as a player, you never want to hear mack say those 2 words while you're in his office. It was freaking awesome.

Eddie, Tray, and Jared. Sean is a big dude.... Just not in this picture. It was truly amazing to see these guys look Sean in the eye and tell him how much they appreciate him. Mack said as much, but it really showed when Sean met the players just how much Mack let's them know that they play a game, while our service men and women put their lives on the line. Mack does a great job instilling repspect for the troops in all of Texas' players.

There is not a better coach in the country for our program than Mack Brown in his current incarnation. I love where this program is at and everything I have read and heard about Coach Brown says that he is the ultimate class act. This story is another example of what a great man he is.

I've had some great days in my life, but can't think of many I wouldn't trade for an afternoon like that.

All the aggys that like to accuse Mack of being a sleazy salesman who does things like troop days and the Iraq trip for publicity should read this story. Very, very few college coaches strike me as the caliber of human being Mack is. I would be proud to have him even if he wasn't as successful as he is.

This is the best thread I have EVER read.... several parts gave me 'chicken skin' (that's what my Mom called goosebumps).

And this takes into account the other Longhorn boards i have been reading / posting / trolling for many many years!

All in all, yesterday was without a doubt one of the best days of my life, and of Sean's life as well. We were on cloud 11 for the rest of the night. You always see Mack on TV, and maybe some of you have even scored a few seconds of solo time with him. But spending a good half hour with this man in his office, having him treat us like royalty, like family, was just unbelievable. Mack Brown is an amazing man, and an even better human being, and yesterday is a day that none of us involved, not even Antwan, will ever forget. Hook Em Mack. You are my hero, along with my big bro Sean.

yeah, thats great and all, but imagine if you had been able to spend only five minutes with tim tebow!

I know some people are eager to have WM take over one day, but it's hard to imagine me being more proud of our program or coach than I am with Mack. These are the good ol' days, folks.

A close buddy of mine came to UT a year before me in 95 on a track scholarship. ran the pentathalon. I believe he was part of the last SWC championship. got a sweet-ass ring and everything.

He joined the marines right after graduation. He's now a captain in the USMC. Served two tours in Iraq and will likely head to Afghanistan soon. He's got two beautiful kids. I'm not a religious man, but every now and then I pray for his safety.

I guess the point is that, we all appreciate and admire what you're boy is doing, DD. Props to him. And props to Mack for demonstrating the kind of class we've all come to expect and appreciate out of him. What a great ambassador for this university.
