not bad shaggy. not bad at all.
Actually, according to your list, it came in tied at #14 with 21pts. Not sayin, just sayinOriginally Posted by Bottlecap
I guess I'm the only one that didn't like the Harlem Shakes, but that's a good list.
that made me laugh, great choices all; looks like i have some more music to check out, thanks nomaaOriginally Posted by NOMAAA
you didnt even read my explanation for that one.Originally Posted by NOMAAA
Thanks again for doing this. One of the things I look forward to every year. I nominate Smoky B, Bottlecap or Rams to keep this going.
Thanks for your work on this. Was there a Mr. Insignificant album? Just curious what it might have been.
I can help tallying the Top of the Decade shit if yall need it.
U2 only got two votes?
Get off your hipster high horses, people. I swear if this had been U2's debut album, and they were some obscure group from Ireland, they'd have the #1 album on this list.
check the reedited first post.Originally Posted by j.e.s.-U.S.
rams was supposed to check the lists too, but dont think he did. i would like to see bottlecap take it over. just need you guys to pm me if your interested.Originally Posted by lowery21

that album was a port-a-potty stack of shit and you know it. From the U2-LOTH thread earlier in the year, it seems many on here gave it a fair chance just like all the other albums that get discussed in their own threads.Originally Posted by HornGrandioso
I was just remembering that Doves had an album out last year.
What a wreck. Wow.
Did it even get a single vote?
More disappointing: Doves vs. U2?
Nothing to add for 2009, but something to keep in mind next time around...
The Brian Jonestown Massacre just released Who killed Sgt. Pepper. Pretty interesting stuff, although as a long time fan, it's taking some time for me to absorb it all. Anton is crazy as shit but a fucking genius. Best band in the country from my perspective.

doves got a couple votes. heartless bastards only got 1 i believe. i didnt do a list or they would have had 2. anonther glaring omission from every single list was the dutchess and the duke's sunset / sunrise.
I voted for Doves. Mostly out of habit.
And Kingdom of Rust and Jetstream were good singles.
I enjoyed that lonely island shoutout or whatever.
Also, did Friendly Fires place last year?
"Kingdom of Rust" is a really good song, one I revisited after seeing ZOMBIELAND in the theaters. The rest of the album never grabbed me, though.Originally Posted by huge
Also, seems like there oughta be a way to use Excel to help you tabulate this shit. Unfortunately, I'm not good enough with Excel to that myself.
thought about excel. tried it in the past. not good enough with it to make it work. suppose you could put together a if and formula, but again thats beyond me.
Doves just barely missed my cut. Some really good tracks on that album. Glad to see Harlem Shakes make the top ten, as it was my favorite album of the year. Too bad they broke up just as they were starting to make a name for themselves.
i have Doves at 10. Quite frankly it was mostly out of admiration of the band. It was released pretty early in the year if i recall. It's grown on me. As mentioned earlier, I fell off the music map a few months ago due to work so i'm pretty sure i would have found a "better" album to replace it had i had the chance
For Texans, y'all listen to some shitty music. Most of the Texans I know have pretty good taste. I'll bet y'all spend 6 hours a week at starbucks and wear black-rimmed glasses too. When was the last time you shaved?
We are sorry there is not more nashville pop represented on this list to appease the southern retards who believe that shit is actually county.Originally Posted by D^3

to be fair, toby keith's latest just missed my top 10.
Starbucks? You could've at least done some research and thrown in Spiderhouse or something. Then maybe it would've been funny.Originally Posted by D^3

I mean, if you're making a list of the top albums of 2009, there are a few clear choices that have been left off here, obviously because they aren't obscure or shitty enough for you to feel like you're being a musical intellect by being one of the few poor douchebags that listen to them.
why don't you submit your list and enlighten us to the clear choices?
please give us 2 or 3 of these albums that are so great that they were left off.Originally Posted by D^3

lol. wait, did you record these albums that were so haphazardly left off the list? what do you care if a bunch of internet know it alls scoff at your taste? post them...you cant come in and start throwing around wild generalizations and back down when asked to back it up.
i was crushed.Originally Posted by D^3

You're a douche. Post your list. I honestly hope you back up what you say and provide some good 2009 releases from other genres. Always looking for something new to steal errrr listen to.
Thread needs more Sonic fucking Youth. Show me ONE band kicking this much ass at the end of their third decade together. I honestly can't think of anyone.
