literally, tickets were free tonight's Rangers game if you have a Star Telegram Gold Press Pass (subscribe to their newspaper). They have this same deal going on for a handful of Monday night home games throughout the year unless said game is against the Yankees/Red Sox.
Nice catch by Murphy to end the inning....2 reasons that ball was caught: they were playing very deep, no doubles defense in the outfield and Cruz was not back there...Im not sure he gets to that, esp. not with the hamstring problem

You guys ever play a softball team that only has 8 or 9 guys show up? You basically just keep count of where they are in the lineup because you know the 9 and/or 10 spots are literally automatic outs. That's our lineup right now...
The early results of Feliz pitching on consecutive days are not good.
Now we get a White Sox team that has won three in a row and we have to face Buehrle, Peavy and Floyd. Peavy and Floyd have terrible ERAs, but you know how pitchers turn it around against Texas.
In the 8th inning we saw the shittyness of Josh Hamilton or the greatness of Vald G.
Hamilton up with bases juiced 1 out. First pitch slider out of the zone swinging. Second pitch slider out of the zone swinging. Third pitch foul ball and fourth pitch fastball by him for the K. Never was trying to at least score a run. That was a fucking horrible piece of shit at bat. He should have been looking for a pitch in his wheel house until he gets a strike but to swing at a low and away slider on the first pitch to let the pitcher have the 0-1 advantage is textbook pathetic baseball.
Vlad then comes up who is the biggest free swinger pretty much in MLB history. Fastball low and away he takes it. Why? Vald might swing at that in the 1st inning or something but when you are in a critical situation where a single ties the game he's going to make the pitcher earn the advantage. Pitcher throws the same pitch in the same spot and Vlad takes again.
Vlad knows how to hit based on the situation and Hamilton still has no fucking clue what he's doing up there given the situation. It's really pathetic.

....Vladimir Guerrero will start in right field tonight as the Rangers shuffle to account for Nelson Cruz going on the DL with a sore hamstring. It will be Guerrero's first game in the field this season. Ryan Garko will be the designated hitter. He is 12 for 25 lifetime against Mark Buehrle. Guerrero is 8 for 25 with four homers.
Craig Gentry, the replacement for Cruz, will start in center field tonight. He hadn't arrived from Oklahoma City by the time the Rangers started to stretch before batting practice.
