Anyway I'm gonna go eat some damned brisket and a beef rib if there are some left.
Looks like I'm out now too - that RFP we've been waiting for came in this morning.
Took a nice walk and got a link of sausage, brisket sandwich, and 1/2 lb of turkey for dinner.
Sausage was juicy and good, love it. Brisket was perfect as well, moist, but not too fatty.
The girl cutting the meat is cool, efficient and does not seem like she would take any $#@!.
New cashier today, blond girls, as opposed to the dude, she was cool as well.
J.M. has a good thing going, glad the place exists.
Some nice chicks were workin the meat when I went last week...me rikey. Something about a nice young lady cutting into a brisket that makes my taint blush.
Went today about 1:30. Had the Beef Rib and some brisket. The best beef rib I have ever had. Brisket was falling apart as well, absolutely incredible. As dumb as this may sound though, the potato salad might be my favortie thing on the menu.
Went last weekend and got brisket and sausage. Both very good.
Just confirmed my tickets to come visit Austin after X-mas. Hoping and praying the epic lines Franklin's has will hold off long enough for me to get some of John's Q.
Half mile walk from the office, this is a good and bad thing.
Picked up a chopped beef and brisket sandwich, sausage, and pork chop. This was for me and co-workers, not all me.
Small line, one dude bought 3 lbs of brisket, geez, and there were some hipsters who kept saying they were from NYC and wanted to go to "Franklin'S", but it was closed, so they went to J. Mueller. That was entertaining.
Sausage was great, the chopped beef sandwich is beyond ridiculous. Got reports that the pork chop and brisket sandwich were good as well.
The coleslaw is outrageous also.
Good experience each time I have gone, love the staff, especially the meat cutting girl.
Went today at 12:30 and there were only 2 people in front of me. Got a brisket sandwich and it was delicious. I think I'll be going with that instead of the half pound I got last time. By the time I left (around 1:00 maybe?) the line had gotten longer, but still only about 15 people I think.
Went at 11:05am this morning. 5 people in line in front of us. Took about 3-4 minutes to get to the order window.
I asked for a half pound of fatty brisket and one beef rib. The beef rib was a giant hunk of meat off the end of the ribs, with no bone in it. It weighed .78 pounds. The bark on the brisket was excellent, good smoke ring, and very tender and flavorful.
The beef rib was even better. Couldn't finish all of it, but man was it tasty.
Didn't care for the BBQ sauce. It was too tomato-ey. Had almost a spaghetti sauce taste to it.
Co-workers had brisket sandwiches, pork ribs, and turkey. All of them were impressed. The turkey was "a whole lot more moist than I expected it".
Damn I walked around the lake and smelt Lamberts, so aftter I rest I am gettin some Muellers for the first time. From reading it seems I should get Brisket and A Beef Rib. . I'll be the dork on the scooter.

Jesus H Christ. How the hell does he make this. I thought my bbq was good. I will start going a few times a week now. $#@!ing awesome. I may give up smoking and just go 2 blocks and load up, although that would be a lot more expensive. 1 rib and a half pound of brisket with a side of squash. 20 bucks.

i had a pork chop and a brisket sammich today. pork chop was a solid A- to A. A BIT too much black pepper, but still quite divine and huuuge. I got the sammich with half lean and half moist, and it was awesome. the lean was very very good, only Franklin has lean that good.
I couldn't quite finish the chop, so I wrapped it up and figured I would have it at a later time and ended up eating it in the car on the way back to the office.
EDIT: the moist was incredible also, brisket is A to A+ here, deserves mention with LCM and Franklin as best in state.

Seriously, that is some of the best $#@! I have eaten in years.
I said God Damn. Even my burbs taste good. To quote Loius CK " I can't wait to take a $#@! and eat it again"
You $#@!s. I have a user's conference (customers) here all week, so I had to eat catered Rudy's.
better sauce it up
We, the citizens of central Texas, believe there is no such thing as too much good BBQ. There's already too much $#@!ty BBQ. Don't stop another good BBQer from opening up. Austin can become BBQ Mecca if everyone plays their cards right.
I see many a message from Texans who live out of state now. "Man I miss Rudy's BBQ." WTF?!!
I just ate two chopped beef and egg breakfast tacos from Rudys. They didn't disappoint. There are times when Rudy's is appropriate for eating.
Lets get this thread back on track to J. Mueller please...if he starts serving pigs in a blanket, then we can talk further.
Full Custom Gospel's review:
Being critical comes naturally, and I went into this visit wanting to identify any flaws I could find in the work of a revered pitmaster. Certainly there were a few things that can be improved upon, but placing this visit in context with others over the summer at the temples of Central Texas smoked meat left me with no choice but to place it among the top places in the state.
I am just posting to get back on the front page.... $#@! guys.. Really?
I will be picking up a to-go order Saturday morning to head back to my hotel and fall into a meat coma. Only problem is trying to figure out what to order.
Prime ribs still good to go this Friday, John? Coworker and I are trying to wait until Friday for our weekly BBQ fix if that is the case.
Ate there on Saturday. Rolled up a few minutes before 11, and they were already serving. Fatty brisket, beef ribs and pork chops were great.
Hope the rain doesn't cut into business too much today but we sure need it.
There's about 3 dry seats, or there were when I left. Rain won't keep me down.
You godless communist wusses. Hornian, Blain and I met up there for lunch at noon. We were the only folks there. It was raining some still, but there was one corner of the tarp that kept one table sorta dry. We wiped it down, and got to work.
Beef rib, slice o brisket, and link o sausage for me. Brisket, sausage, and pork chop for the other folks. All mighty fine. A good day to have cue, troopers that we are. Because we're manly men, and you're not.
Just picked up a brisket sandwich to go and there was just one person in front of me in line. He got 1.5lbs of brisket, and they threw in basically an extra 1/3lb because it was the last of that brisket. I think they're trying to get rid of their supply since it's a slow day today. The rain is barely coming down at all, so if you can make it down there and pick something up to go, do it.
I got an end piece since she was cutting into a brand new brisket, and the piece she gave me is freakin' huge!
