How big of a crowd do you reckon your place can handle? I only say that because if you oversell, that's not an issue for you but is for the rest of us. I'm sure you read the Franklin thread.
Not sure I understand the question... We were selling out before it was cool.. My pit is big so really dont anticipate extremely early sell outs. Feel pretty comfortable I will be able to make it thru a lunch run and not be sold out by noon
Right now, Aaron can only fit around 38 briskets. His lines routinely start to form around 10a for an 11a open & he's out of gas by 1230ish @ most.
& Yes, we get the "before it was cool" reference; plenty of people going there 'cause that's where the other hipsters are going & this is easily the sort of person who throws sauce on everything with no remorse.
We will definitely be checking this out OSU weekend. There is no good BBQ in east Texas

Hmm never heard of it. I thought the only thing in Kilgore was oil wells and the rangerettes. We don't make it over that way very often (about 2 hours from here) but I will have to check it out when we do.
Stanley's Famous Pit BBQ in Tyler is pretty good. Not John M. good, but pretty good. They even keep a sold out chalkboard by the front door so you know what is sold out when you pull in the parking lot. I think they won best ribs last year at TexMo's BBQ Festival.
Country Tavern's ribs are the truth. They're as good as it gets, and worth a swing down into Kilgore if you are in the area, heading down I-20, etc.
Ribs are good but, if you don't have to be in Kilgore, don't go.
Lulz. We will actually be staying in the area the weekend of the tech game. The wimmenz are going shopping at canton and a buddy and I are going to the tech game. Thanks for the recs guys.

If 9/26 goes down, I will definitely be there. My birthday is 9/23, and I just need an excuse to turn my already 3 day weekend into a 4 day weekend...bookended by VY Steakhouse on 9/23 and Muellers on 9/26.

Ok... here is the deal.. A good shaggy showing opening day and I will open up a one time shaggy sunday. Give me a couple a weeks after opening day, I'll buy the beer.
