Wow, 9 was pretty awesome, so I am expecting good things to come from this.
Next, you may be the only person that doesn't know about the movie:

I thought this was a joke i just wasnt getting. That's sweet!
No Helena Bonham Carter? I'd think she'd a be a shoe-in for Mary Todd Lincoln.
Nevermind. I thought Burton was directing, not producing.

Yeah I'm going to watch the $#@! out that movie. Very fun book, looks to be a very fun movie.
So... saw the trailer before "Act of Valor"... and my first reaction (after WTF???) was "WTF????"
Did the book actually try to be serious, or is this total camp?
PG-13? Trailer is lame and has a serious tone. This will bomb unless they play up the camp of Honest Abe being a vampire slayer.
honestly i really think john brown, vampire hunter would make a better movie. just have him lead a slave rebellion against a southern vampire planter-class conspiracy.
So in. It looks like it will be another love it or hate it movie for me. But the trailer looks great so I might as well try it out.
This is why I don't go to movies. That and the teenagers.
What's not to get? The War of Northern Aggression was actually fought to prevent vampires a plentiful stock of human foodstuffs (slaves). I thought this was common knowledge.
Book really wasn't that great, not counting on the movie being any better, unless they show tits
I thought the book was nicely done and very creative incorporating both American history and vampirism. I really enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to the movie.
Timur Bekmambetov (directed 'wanted') also directed this movie. i loved 'wanted', so i can't wait to see this....
This movie doesn't appeal to me so far, unless as previously hoped for they play up the camp aspect. Trailer seemed too serious.
Just for the record, and perhaps I should make this a spoiler alert but I won't, the "Vampire Nation" is the "South". Yeah, Lincoln not only freed the slaves by defeating the south, but saved the US from Vampiricy. It's been running in trailers in Chicago for a very long time.
$#@! this movie.
I read the book, which was better than I expected (low expectations and bought 5 mins before a flight left). Not sure about the movie, but in the book there are Vampires in the North too, but in the South they are in more control and use slavery as a means to get victims.
I won't be seeing the movie in a theater, but the book had more depth and was better written than the title implies. That's not saying much, but I stand behind the statement.
28% on Rotten Tomatoes with 46 reviews in.
Read the book on a whim too. Was pretty surprised. Heavy on the history and pretty creative way to do it. Super violent too. I will be seeing it.
$#@! it, i liked it. don't go in taking it seriously and i think you'll enjoy it.
my opinion could also be enhanced by it being the first time seeing a movie in 3d. i never want to watch anything in 2d again.
I think I was nonplussed based in changes from the book. The book was really historically accurate, just with a fantastic explanation for why Lincoln changed jobs, married, moved from town to town, etc.
As a movie, it was mindless entertainment with some over the top fight scenes, but none of the historical subtext.
