Yay! Forum plugin issue gone and "Latest" now works. Not sure if that was a result of the latest update, or if the plugin was installed. If it was the latter, thanks Bob!

On Tapatalk? I've never seen ads that I remember. I shelled out the $3 or so, so maybe that's it.

I'm getting the pop ups myself. First time ever with an iPhone. I do not have tapatalk installed.

It started out with a message that said something like "this website is iPhone native. Would you like to install tapatalk?"

Anybody else experiencing this?

Ah. I think you guys are talking about getting popups when visiting Shaggy via the Safari or some other browser on the iPhone. There are no popups when using the iPhone Tapatalk app, so that's where the confusion was.

I would suggest using the iPhone app. And not just to get rid of the popups. It's a very nice way to use Shaggy on the phone.

As for the popup, I think BL can disable it by commenting out the code (in the footer template??) that calls tapatalkdetect.js, or simply renaming that file to something else. Although, I would guess that just renaming that file is a hack and could potentially cause problems. Code change seems like the correct way.

the read-only Tapatalk app is free; the full app is $2.99.

is it worth it? and, yes, I know it's *only* $3 dollars. I guess since I've never seen it I don't know how much better the experience is as compared to via the Safari browser.

There are obviously some limitations, but very much worth it IMO. If you read back through this thread, people love it. I would spend the $3, though, as I don't think you can post with the free version.

Or, just try the free version, and if you like using it to read, buy the full version.

It's a phone specific popup. It is actually in the source code and installed by the tapatalk plugin. Not an ad, but a "function" of Tapatalk to alert people when they visit Shaggy on a mobile that they can also use Tapatalk to access the site.

I think it depends on the browser. I use Atomic Web which let's me change the identity of my browser in http headers. I set it to standard PC Safari, so that way some sites don't autoswitch to a mobile version. You may be using a different browser from Hitby, one that is recognized as a mobile browser.

Yo, so I just installed tapatalk, scrolled through the history of this thread and could of sworn that someone complained about the way threads open up. For example, if I'm checking a post out for the first time it takes me to the last post of that thread. It's sucks that I have to scroll up to read the first post. (I hope this make sense).

Is there a setting where this can be changed?

p.s. Tapatalk is bad ass. I haven't checked shaggy on my comp for the entire weekend. Pretty efficient.

Actually, the way my threads open up are different all the time. Sometimes it seems like it opens where I stopped reading (if I had seen the post before) but sometimes it just skips to the last post...so weird.

The last unread is kind of flaky. Always has been. It works better with this last update, though. It still will sometimes jump to the bottom of a page, especially when going to the next page while reading a thread.

iPhone update in the last couple of weeks has some good updates. Pull down to refresh. Finally. Also, you can now upload pics and have then tapatalk hosted without putting them somewhere else first.

Ok I've been through the 4 pages and I don't see anything. It's not adding this site as a favorite, despite navigating to it multiple times from the "Search" option and multiple times entering specific forums. No options at all in any of the menus at any level to add a forum as a favorite. Every time I open the app and I want to find the Shag I have to use the "Search" function and type in "Shaggy Bevo". Any help?

Paid Android version.

The iPhone version, search and then login, and it remembers it. You go to "accounts" and it is there.

Not for you, but general comments:

The latest iPhone update is great. Finally licensed the pull down to refresh technology. Also, you can post pics directly and have them hosted on a tapatalk server.
