    Austin dump

    Is there a dump in or around Austin where I can take a pickup load of trash? I see the city dump has closed.

    I live SW if it matters.

    I've been to the TDS dump a couple of times. They just measure the size of your trash pile and you dump it into a pit yourself. Pushing trash off the back of a trailer into a 25 ft sinkhole is surprisingly fun. I don't remember how much it cost me per cubic foot.

    another vote for TDS. A great company and they operate the most responsible landfill in America. Also drive around back and take a look at the exotic wildlife they have running around the ranch. When we used to live down there my wife and I were arguing and decided to take a drive so as to cool off with a change of scenery.
    So we're bickering, and I hit a curve around Old Lockhart Road, and there are a group of Dik-diks. Dik-diks! Totally stopped the fight.

    If you're Southwest you can go to either the EcoDepot on 620 just off 71 (they charge you), or you can possibly take it to the Hays County Recycling Center of 150 between Driftwood and Dripping Springs. Here are their location, fees and list you can dump. Make a day of it - go dump your $#@!, go to the Salt Lick afterward, then go home and dump your $#@!.

    EcoDepot is just north of that Springhill restaurant on 620 on same side of the road. I took a big giant zenith TV there, and paid to dispose of it and they let me watch it get crushed up in this crusher thingy....it was so cool.
