i always find inspiration in these lyrics. been listening to it a lot lately:
This is my world
And I am world leader pretend
This is my life
And this is my time
I have been given the freedom
To do as I see fit
It's high time I've razed the walls
That I've constructed
song(S)
and
Bomba Estereo - Fuego
Missed them during SXSW :(
Ok, sorry, how do I post the you tube video? I'm you tube challenged.

That live version of Mother Puncher is mind-blowing
I think I'll run this entire album into the ground; can't stop listening to it. This particular song reminds of being a little kid in the 70s and riding around in my mom's station wagon listening to the radio. Evoked a pretty strong emotional response from me first time I heard it. Guess that's why I keep hitting repeat on the song in my car, iPod, living room stereo, and laptop when it comes up.
Band is called The Old Light. Former SF cab driver named Garth Steel Klippert who now lives in Portland. He is apparently a carpenter and releasing demo tapes. A friend of mine went to see him recently with about 8 people there and his 'buddy' M.Ward is sitting in with him. The female vocals on the song below is Jolie Holland from the Be Good Tanyas. Drummer is Scott McPherson (Rhett Miller, Elliott Smith, Beck, She & Him). He isn't on a label yet and I don't think he has released anything but that is about to be corrected considering who he has playing on his demos and sitting in with him at shows.
Here is a sendspace link for a song called Magnetar
discovery - orange shirt
My 2 year old is running this one into the ground right now:
Robert Pollard- It's Easy

If it's the Beaches-A bros.
Two songs:
Surrender by Cheap Trick (my daughter loves this song).
Lethal Enforcer by We are Scientists.
I've moved on to LCD Soundsystem's "Home" -- the closing track on the new album.
that is so good ... i listen to that every couple of weeks or so, always followed by this:
lately i have been playing, over and over, st. dominic's preview followed by redwood tree, van morrison. one of the best back to back song combinations on one album, ever
and the terrapin suite, grateful dead ... it is just such an epic masterpiece
