Maybe if they trade Keppinger, then might put Bourgeois at 2nd? Bourgeois looks like a talented player.
It looks like NOBODY is going to be moved. Justice is a clown but he nails it on this on (broken clock, etc.,.)

well the drafting situation has gotten a ton better in the last few years, which we'll need if we're gonna rebuild the farm. trading roy will help, but the draft correction was what needed to happen.
Even in another terrible year, it's always great to get two wins from the cubs and their douchebag fans.
fuck the cubs and the biggest douchebag baseball fans this side of red sox/yankees
If only it was wednesday every day.
Owning the Cubs even in bad years is sweet.
Fuck the Astros ownership and leadership though fuck them in their stupid asses.
from richard justice:
Ed Wade appears to have done a decent job of getting prospects and a 27-year-old pitcher, J.A. Happ, for Roy Oswalt. These don't appear to be major league-ready prospects—1b Jonathan Singleton, RHP Vance Worley
Happ is a very nice pitcher.
Also, Richard Justice is an idiot with "these don't appear to be major league-ready prospects". Singleton is 18 and he's in A ball, of course he's not major league-ready. And Worley is in AAA, and he is pretty close to major league-ready. Don't do any research at all, Richard, just start typing.
Worley's pitched one game in AAA, after spending only a season and a half in AA. I don't think RJ is wrong here. MLR, to me at least, means when the ink is dry on the trade, they're headed to Houston, not the farm. That's obviously true, here.
And remember this is the Astros we're talking about. Major-league ready means 28+ years old and 3-4 seasons languishing in AAA behind mediocre veterans entrenched in Houston.![]()
Well, what I meant was Richard's use of "appear to be". If he'd taken 5 minutes to do a little interwebbing he could have found out that one of them is years away and the other is actually very close to MLB-ready. I bet we'll see Worley called up this year.
Also, I just want to say again that I love getting Happ in this deal. Love it.
Singleton sounds like a really good prospect, although he's young. I hope he's part of the deal.
It looks like it's a done deal and only needs Oswalt's approval.
Sounds like they have it

Roy Oswalt plans to accept his proposed trade to the Philadelphia Phillies, a baseball source who has spoken with Oswalt's camp told ESPN.com Thursday.
Oswalt hasn't officially waived his no-trade clause to OK the deal, the source said. But after considering his options and speaking with friends familiar with the Phillies' situation, the source said the Houston Astros staff ace is prepared to go to Philadelphia.
It was not immediately clear if the Phillies or Astros offered any financial incentives for Oswalt to drop his trade veto rights. The Astros will pay $11 million of the approximately $23 million that the 32-year-old right-hander has guaranteed through 2011, sources said.
In return for Oswalt, the Astros would get back left-handed starter J.A. Happ and two prospects, according to sources.
While the Phillies prospects have not been identified, sources said the Astros have pressed hard for first baseman Jonathan Singleton, considered the team's best minor league hitting prospect. Singleton is currently at Class A Lakewood in the South Atlantic League, where he was hitting .312 with 18 doubles and 12 home runs as of Thursday.
The agreement on trade terms was first reported by KRIV-TV in Houston.
The Astros were off to a National League-worst 14-27 start when Oswalt asked for a trade on May 22. As of Thursday he was 6-12 with a 3.42 ERA. He was scheduled to start Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Happ was scheduled to start Friday for the Phillies against Washington.
For his career, Oswalt is 143-82 with a 3.24 ERA.
good deal for the astros. but as a fan of a suddenly slumping braves team, i hate that philly is getting another quality starter.
Sucks that he leaves the team 1 win away from tying the all time wins mark.
it wasn't that long ago that happ was at the top of the phillies' untouchables list.
yeah RJ's not my favorite columnist, but he is usually pretty good on baseball. and poking sticks at aggy
Not getting Singleton, it looks. Now I'm kind of bummed about the deal.
And I don't give a shit if Roy gets it. Dude asked for a trade... honestly, I don't want him owning the club record.
Completely disagree. The guy's actions have screamed prima donna. ESPECIALLY the latest BS about him needing time to process any deal (i.e., him not wanting to be traded at the eleventh hour). I think some of you are so disgruntled with the Astros' front office that you're blindly giving him a pass for being a pretty shitty teammate and employee for the majority of the season.
You ABSOLUTELY can blame Roy Oswalt. I appreciate what he did for the franchise. He *was* the "pitching face" for many years - well, when he wasn't sharing the lime light with Clemens and Pettitte - and there is no 2005 pennant without his nails performance in Game Six against St. Louis. But he also single-handedly blew Game Three of the World Series (at least he didn't pull a Clemens move and fake an injury to leave the game, though), and he hasn't been the best pitcher on the team for two seasons (and in 08, he wasn't significantly better than Wandy or Randy Wolf, either).
this trade looks a lot shittier now than it did this morning.
Happ is starting tomorrow night against the brewers.
welcome to the big leagues.

It's not his ML debut... he was runner-up for ROY last year, I believe.
Phat... Concur, but the one silver lining I'm looking at is that Bobby Heck was involved with scouting these guys, and I have the utmost confidence in his judgment. I really wish they had been able to get Singleton, though... it would be nice to have another stud bat on the farm to complement JD Martinez.
So, Gose comes, and now he Gose? Don't have any info on Brett Wallace yet.
Astros acquired OF Anthony Gose, LHP J.A. Happ and INF Jonathan Villar from the Phillies for RHP Roy Oswalt and cash considerations.
He won't last long in Houston, as Gose has reportedly been flipped to the Blue Jays in exchange for Brett Wallace. The 19-year-old outfielder saw his stock go through the roof over the winter after he led the minor leagues with 76 steals in 96 attempts with Single-A Lakewood last season. Naturally, he draws raves from scouts because of his plus speed, but he is also highly-regarded for his arm and defense in center field. Still, he has a lot of work to do at the plate, compiling a meager .263/.323/.367 batting line over 967 at-bats. He doesn't exactly look like your prototypical leadoff man at the moment, especially considering that he is just 36-for-63 (57 percent) in stolen base attempts with High-A Clearwater this season.
Astros acquired INF Jonathan Villar, LHP J.A. Happ and OF Anthony Gose from the Phillies for RHP Roy Oswalt and cash considerations.
Villar, 19, was said to have as much upside as any Phillies infield prospect by Baseball America during the offseason. A switch-hitter, Villar has a .270/.345/.352 batting line over parts of three seasons in the minor leagues and was batting .272/.332/.358 with two homers, 36 RBI and 38 stolen bases in 51 attempts with Single-A Lakewood this season. The speedster is often praised for his plus-arm and solid range at shortstop, however he has an astounding 42 errors this season. He hasn't developed any power and could learn to take a few walks, but he has enticing tools, nonetheless. He'll likely join Single-A Lexington.
Reports now that Gose is going to Toronto for Brett Wallace, who was ranked in the Top 50 prospects in baseball coming into the season. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/minorleagues/...top&pid=477165
Could this mean that Berkman may be on his way out the door? Wallace is hitting .301 w/ 18 HRs and a .500+ SLG at AAA Las Vegas. This almost certainly signals that Houston won't re-sign Berkman in the offseason, I would think.
when i read "as much upside as anyone in the organization" i expect to see an OPS that doesnt begin with a ".6"
This is a sad day for me but one that was easy to see coming. We've gone from the world series to no hope of competing and having to trade away one of the best pitchers in franchise history in less than five years. I'm too young to remember the first half of Nolan's Astros stint so Roy has had the longest run of excellence of any Astros pitcher that I have seen.
I am glad to be getting Happ but it worries me that he just missed half a season due to injury. I liked the minor league prospects rumored earlier today a lot better than the ones we ended up with but that is just going off of stats. Still, I would have hoped for better than two guys with 0.700 OPS in A ball.
I am also concerned with Wade's bias towards trading with the Phillies and signing Phillies free agents. Myers has turned out to be an excellent signing but Bourn has really regressed this year. It just seems like he is too comfortable working with what he knows and it gives the impression
I like the deal a lot more now that the Astros are getting Brett Wallace.
Yeah, I hadn't seen that before I posted. It does look like we fleeced the Jays in that deal. I'm not sure I would call 0.302/0.365/0.502, good for 53rd in OPS in the PCL, knocking the cover off the ball but I am hopeful. He is young for that level so he should get better.
From what I have read, the jays think Gose is a GG-caliber CF, and they tried to get him in the Halladay deal. Obviously, Houston has one of those in the fold now.
It makes me wonder whether or not Singleton was on the table and Wade/Heck just liked this kid better.
I wasn't too impressed with what the Astros got back form the Phils considering the $11mm that they included. However, getting Wallace is huge. I really think they need to trade Berkman and finally start the rebuilding.
