The fans were still there in the 16th creating a buzz. That shit ain't happening in other cities. New York, maybe. Boston, maybe. That's about it.

i have watched every inning of both of these games, and there's been a weird playoff atmosphere to them. braves fans have to be happy with the astros' effort.

Rockies fans have to be pleased with us too - we've helped restore some of their playoff hopes.

I love when you get bonus baseball - and win. Carlos Lee, for all his shortcomings, hits the ball as hard as anyone I've seen, and really seems to have picked up the leadership role with Berkman gone. We're not the best team out there, but we're very watchable again and that is huge.

and for those keeping score at home, we've won 4 in a row. we're 57-69 (4th place). 2.5 back of milwaukee, and 4 up on the cubs.

since may 8th, we're 48-48.

since june 1st, we're 40-35.

since july 1st, we're 26-21.

we have to go 5-31 to lose 100 games.

i don't want to do the math, but pence and lee have stepped it up since berkman left. pence especially has put together a nice season all of a sudden. .285/20/70 with 77runs and 15sb.

Agree, after the NYM and STL series the schedule really gets easier. 20 of the final 29 against teams with losing records. if we go 3-3 over these next six we have a real chance to get real close to .500 which is something I never fathomed earlier this summer.
