So, I have over 50 posts. Why can I not start a thread?
And, FWIW, I don't think it's instant. I think there might be a batch process or something that assigns permissions.
we seem to have a new influx of noobs again.... someone talked about fight club
"Jeebus" not "Jebus"
Wonder of wonders, going to Bellmont answered so many questions.
Back to lurking.
so after the time's up, do the noobs automatically get NSAA access, or only if they ... pass the test?
Yes! No more threadstalking!
30 days? That's a long time. I guess I'll keep MS Painting in the meantime.
I looked around and did not find anything mentioning reasons why I may not be able to edit my profile. When I try it gives me the following:
edit: Also, I'm donating to the cause monthly, but I don't know if I screwed that up as well.Moriarty, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I hate that message as well...
hi34
Is there a number of posts needed to add an avatar?
whats going on people???
Blacklab et. al. -
Any chance of getting an "updated rules of the game"? I am not sure (and research shows a LOT of conflicting information) how/when certain "privileges" are granted to n00bs, fucktards, or in my case, dipshits.
I was able to post right after registering and logging on, BUT I still can't:
- give rep
- PM folks
- access my profile
- check my inbox
- start threads
- etc., etc., etc...
Things have obviously changed quite a bit over the last year and even many months. Can you provide an update -- either by thread or FAQs -- for the new fucktards. I can play ball. Just tell me the rules.
Oh, and other posters besides those in control can spare me "The first rule of shaggy is..." BS. I get that. Gimme something I can use!
Cool. Thanks.
PS - obviously had to dig up a related thread since I can't PM.![]()
I didn't really think this was important enough, but in case Garvey's recently asked questions get answered, I have a question/issue. Apologies in advance if this already been addressed, but one of the functions that I frequently use is "find all posts by user" (whether my own or someone else). This, of course, brings up the list of all a user's recent posts, which, when clicked on, takes you directly to his/her post--I should mention that this functionality is great and I won't get into how frustratingly archaic other sites can be at this. However, and my real question/issue, is when you click on the arrow for what would normally be "last post" in a thread at this juncture (I say normally because I always go to "new posts" from the main board screen and start from there and that always works perfectly) actually takes me to the very first post in the thread.
As an example, I have posted in the "P90X" thread, so when I click on my "view posts" it shows where I have posted there....however, when I click on the arrow icon that indicates "last post" for the thread, it actually takes me to the first post (in this case of a 15 page thread). It is not a big deal at all (it takes all of 1 extra click and some scrolling to get to the last post), just more of a question/issue--is that intentional? Do I have a setting set incorrectly? Am I just crazy? Or is that something that should possibly be corrected?......
Didn't see the 3 day req but I am not a troll just a slightly OSU- biased Texas fan.
I've updated the first post with how it now works.
Check and thanks for the update.
I'm going to guess that it is the move to "Regular User" that enables the Rep, access to Profile & Inbox, etc. as well as ability to PM.
Not only will I look forward to that (and not seeing that annoying-as-fuck "you do not have permission to access this page" vBulletin Message), but I'll shoot you a PM in 4 or 5 days to let you know that all is good-to-go...when the 10 day probie is up.
Thx again, blacklab.![]()
Update here:
The 10 day probation is over...
Ability to give Rep and access my Profile is granted, but...
No access to Notifications, Inbox, or ability to PM (and yes, I went through all the FAQs to make sure I wouldn't get called out for "not doin it right").
So, blacklab, you should have seen the Rep (that was easiest to note just by checking the board). However, the Inbox & PM functionality is not kicking in at 10 days. Hence, no "shoot(ing) you a PM in 4 or 5 days to let you know that all is good-to-go...when the 10 day probie is up".
Maybe y'all have it configured that way.
Hell, I haven't even tried to start something. Whatever. If it happens, it happens.![]()

I can't see ldylnghrn's vag in her NSAA thread. I think my account is broken. Help me BL!
And what a nice rooster it is, skip. A bit of a mongrel or ovine mulatto, though, wouldn't you say? What is that, an Asine and Barred Plymouth Rock or is there a little Araucana in there as well? Regardless, I am sure you never take your hand off it for fear of losing it even when scouring through the NSAA threads.
You must be proud. (no homo)
I know of a few other people that were having the same issue a few months back. Check your Inbox. I just sent you a PM that should help get you back on track just in case it takes awhile for the Bobs to clear this up.
All of us are anxiously holding our breath.
Furley - Thanks for trying to assist and inform. I've waited a few days to "let things work out" and "get back on track" without being a whiney bitch, but it is a no-go.
The "No access to Notifications, Inbox, or ability to PM" prevents me from checking my inbox and getting your PM.
Hope you're still breathing by now, but in the words of Cheap Trick, "Surrender".
How do I give reputation to others? I don't see the icon that was mentioned in the FAQ. Is this something that needs to be activated?
you should be able to now Evil, you were caught in a non active group during the software move.
Hmm. Now I can't seem to give rep, though that may be a good thing.
Never mind. Everything seems to be working now.
I feel like.. no.. AM a complete moron for not finding this thread earlier. Couldn't figure out why I was so restricted, and I think I even sent a message to the mods asking why. Can't blame me for only wanting to read the fun shit and look at pictures though!
FYI - Oklahoma State grad (surrounded by UT fans in the office)
Blacklab. I think I should be able to send pms. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong.
