    Best Louisiana Casino for couples?

So it has to have other stuff to do around it other than just gamble. Obviously the closer to Texas the better.

I've good things about L'Auberge du Lac overall, but I don't think they have a poker room. How about the Isle of Capri? I don't know dick about the LA casinos and I've been tasked with looking into it because "Hey, he plays poker, let's ask him." I've found out that the IoC does have a poker room. Is it any good?

I've also heard that Coushatta is a decent casino but there's nothing else around there.

    But seriously...

L'Auberge du Lac doesn't have a poker room, you're right. And it's definitely the nicest in Lake Charles.

Coushatta is fun (that's where I went on my bachelor party, after stops at Houston Gentleman's Clubs), but there's not much else around there.

Shreveport has a lot of options, but if you're down Houston way, might as well just go to Baton Rouge. And if you would go to Baton Rouge, might as well just go all the way to Harrah's New Orleans.

I went to the L'Auberge around NYE last year, there wasn't a poker room at that time, but there were talks of them building one soon (no idea if that's happened yet). It was nice, had more of a Vegas feel than anywhere else I've been in LA. The Coushatta is way the fuck out there, with not much to do other than what's at the casino, but I always make money on the $2/$5 tables there!

L'Auberge is probably the best bet for a couple's casino. They have a spa, shopping, and the casino is very nice. But you're right, no poker room. The good news is that Isle is only a five minute drive away and they have a pretty decent poker room. The rest of the casino sucks and there's not much else to do there besides gamble.
Coushatta has golf and a poker room, but I don't think they have anything for the females. I might be wrong about that. And as you mentioned, it's out in the middle of nowhere and it's 30 minutes farther than Lake Charles.
I don't know anything about the Shreveport casinos.

Coushatta used to have some decent acts come through every once in a while, but I checked their event calendar recently and it was pretty bad. Never been to L'Auberge, but I hear it's nice and has a good spa.

Isle of Capri is good if you're on a shoestring budget. Stopped in there one time on our way to New Orleans on a Thursday night and got $19 rooms. I think they had $5 tables as well. Don't recall much about the casino, as the beer was flowing pretty heavily from Austin to Minute Maid Park to Lake Charles.

Isle of Capri has an okay poker room. They spread 4/8 limit and 5/5 NL last I heard. Tournaments suck as far as structure. The table games are okay but usually crowded and VERY smoky. The Inn is cheap at Isle, but you get what you pay for. The tower is a little nicer, but I don't think they have a spa there. L'Auberge is nice (like Vegas), but like you said they don't have a poker room. I would recommend going to L'Auberge and while she's doing her girly things head over to Isle to play poker. Also, the table limits are at least $25 min bet at L'Auberge as well.

I assume you're talking about southern Louisiana, and not Shreveport/Bossier? If Shreveport is an option, definitely the Horseshoe, or maybe El Dorado. The other 3 there are shitholes.

I agree with the suggestion to just go on to New Orleans and Harrah's. Or Horseshoe Bossier City is pretty nice, though Shreveport is fairly gross in general.

    this.

I used to make 2-3 gambling trips a month.

Now I make zero, but if I had to pick a destination, it would be Shreveport, mostly because there's more to do away from the casinos.
