Sure, I know it's the week of, but our group has been somewhat "fluid." Family has decided they want to go, so we're looking for tix for them. If anyone has any, has a line on some, etc. lemme know. Thanks.

yeah, got an email today that tickets still remain. either call Reliant or hit up Ticketmaster.
Just pulled 115 row N on ticketmaster for $65 ea or so.. thats a good value relative to a UT home game. The lower level end zone has nice views at Reliant, its angled properly and has a good view of the jumbotron
Arrrr matey
Rice is getting good. I heard practices have been going well the last couple of days. I wouldn't wait.
Hey Eddie, how much should i be prepared to pay for a ticket from a scalper at the game? Hitby and I are still ticketless...
Keep in mind there are NO SEASON TICKETS, that means everyone that bought a ticket bought it to use it so there won't be a flood of tickets floating around out there. I'm sure there will be some but I think the average UT fan is accustom to scalping on game day and the average UT season ticket holder is accustom to dumping on game day. There is a disconnect there for this game.
Again, these things aren't going to be golden nugget of entertainment goodness but this won't be the typical UT opening day game. This is a decent ticket.
Ticketmaster had lots of nice options and I think still has some decent ones. We have some really expensive premium inventory and some cheap uppers. Not sure how the market will look in 24 hours but I do know that early this morning the market was popping. As in bad club seats were selling for $150 ea and we actually took an order for good ones at $300ea. That is a sign of general demand. We have also been selling upper level end zones for 30ea all day. There is a lot of activity in general.
Bottomline if you see something you like you might as well buy it now. As unlikely as it is there are absolutely no tickets on the market on saturday, that probability is a lot greater than the probability of lowers floating around for $25 ea
Ha! They bumped the price for lower level tickets. How cute
There are no season tix but a ton of people buy extras for their friends. Or people from Austin who wanted to go originally backed out.
I am never going to sweat a game @ Reliant after the 2005 Big 12 title game. Cutoff for tickets was $1500. I made the cutoff thinking it would be a crazy ticket. I saw so many extras on gameday going for face or below. If the Big 12 title game when we are playing there there isn't a hot ticket, playing Rice certainly isn't.
I guess people have different definitions of hot but midfield Clubs were selling for $200 a month ago and today we had orders at $350 ea if that's not hot I don't know what is.
Midfield Texas sideline seats were $125 ea a month ago and were selling for $250 this week... again, if thats not hot I don't know what is. Whether those be 'data point's or part of a larger market trend, I'll leave that to the finance guys.
Bottomline, this market went up.

eddie, agreed. but most of the people posting here and looking around aren't looking for midfield lower level tickets. SB is full of cheap assholes. and cheap assholes will find cheap tickets for this game. people looking for tickets between the 40s will be paying a premium and over face. those people maybe should worry about the ticket prices going up. cheap assholes don't need to worry about this game.
Texas/OU is another story. i'm glad i got my ticket order filled by the LF.

Drove by Reliant about a half hour ago. There are already dudes on the street with two fingers in the air. We already have tickets. Had we not, though, I think there would not be a problem finding at the stadium.
Yep, ended up selling out... $15 tickets were selling for $65 online and in the parking lot in a 5 minute span I counted 30 people looking and no one selling.
What a surprise, UT selling out the season opener in Houston, in AC, with Beer, with $15 face value tickets and tickets being scarce because there weren't season ticket holders with leftovers to bail out the last minute deal hunters.
I read a blurb from the Statesman this morning saying there were a ton of empty seats at the game (after their initial report that the game was sold out). I watched on tv and you cannot tell on tv. I'll try to find the link. But if it was sold out and there were a ton of empties either the venue held back tickets or people bailed and left their friends with extras.
There were empty seats (anyone who used the term "a ton" mispoke, because there weren't more than a scattering of a hundred or so empties) but it was sold out at the box office and online and there were way more people looking to buy than had tickets. The street scalpers I work with said they were getting $100 ea outside the stadium for uppers an hour before game time.
The tailgating scene was really good so I know some people went in late (if at all) and some people left early to hang back out in the lot
it's hard to tell on tv. looked like a ton of burnt orange but just repeating what i read.
Yea the media tends to tint ticket related news with whatever preconceived ideas they had before they do their actual reporting... everyone (and I mean like 99% of the game attending population) assumed it was just another Rice game so I can see how a reporter would just assume it was the same ole same ole and hence not a well attended event... that being said I anticipate UT-Wyoming to be one of the most poorly attended home openers in ten years since so many people from Houston and Dallas went to reliant this past weekend.
I have to hand it to the Texans sales staff because they have done a great job of making sure the MLS all star game and this game sold out. I'll also say they have been really smart with how they've priced the tickets and done group offerings for those games. I think the venue and teams realize there is more to gain by fans being in cheaper tickets because at least you have a chance at a few beer/food sales and maybe some merchandise.
We bought the $15 tickets from the Texans ticket office and went straight in and sat in the lower level in section 131 without problem. There were not a ton of empties. You could definitely find them, but all in all it was a pretty well attended game.
Reliant was a decent venue, but tell me that's a pro stadium, with that shitty of a scoreboard? My Ipod screen is as big as the replay screen there.
