NEW BRAUNFELS — As predawn thunder rolled and lightning flashed, Peter Serebrenik carried a 7-year-old girl out of rising floodwaters that were rapidly swallowing his campgrounds on the banks of the Guadalupe River. Nearly 12 inches of rain had pelted parts of Comal County overnight — a downpour that resulted in a tourist's death and left widespread damage.
After hours of falling, the rain had turned into a battering ram of muddy water that tore through this resort community and, at that moment early Wednesday, was washing away Serebrenik's River Ranch RV Park.

Just talked to my mom and downtown Belton is flooding. At our house, which is on the Stillhouse Hollow Dam Road, my dad poured out 7 inches of water of the rain gauge and it was overflowing and that was before another heavy rain hit this morning.

The City of Georgetown Emergency Operations Center was activated at 2 AM. The 3 forks of the San Gabriel River here crested at 3:45 AM. Lake Georgetown has risen nearly 12 feet since yesterday. The GFD has made several swift water rescues. We have at least one area where homes were flooded that are in the ".02% chance" flood zone (formerly the 500 year).

There is a beautiful stretch of the Blanco above Wimberley, we get to float it about every 10 years or so.
It's usually dry.

i believe you're looking east in that picture, so you've just crossed under 360 and are heading east on 2222. county line should be just around the bend to the right.

No, that bridge is 2222. They have been doing a ton of construction. If you are heading into Austin on 2222, that is right before County Line, just inside the 2222/360 intersection.

Per LCRA: LCRA anticipates opening floodgates Wednesday at Wirtz and Starcke dams because of heavy rain in Sandy Creek, which flows into Lake LBJ, and Flat Rock Creek, which flows into Lake Marble Falls. LCRA expects to open one floodgate at Wirtz Dam by 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, and one and a half floodgates at Starcke Dam.

Always good news for Lake Travis. Forecast to rise to 672-674.
