The force field is still holding over east austin. Didn't let the afternoon rains in; and blocked 70% of yesterday/today's downpours. Only 6" here.

It's a little confusing when one hears 100 year, 250 year, 500 year storm. It means that there is a 1 in 100 chance every year for such event to take place. Same with the 250 and 500 year storm (1 in 250 chance, 1 in 500 chance, per year). Not that it only rains that amount once every however many years the storm event turns out to be. The percentages should all even out over time but were in a span where they seem to be occurring on a more frequent basis.

Lets assume there are accurate records dating back 250 years (which there arent ). That still isn't nearly enough of a sample size to say definitively what should be expected every 250 or even 100 years. Seems like a lot of horseshit to me.

Looks like they found Jennifer Ring's body.. Some guys fishing (illegally) this morning found a body near the 360 bridge where Bull Creek empties into Lake Austin.
