That liquor store in W7th next to Dirty Crow claimed to have a craft beer selection when it opened, but I stopped in there and was massively disappointed. Not just in the beer selection but in everything. Maybe they were just getting off the ground but I haven't bothered to return.

We need a Whip-In. Preferably within 1/10th of a mile of the 7th & University intersection. See what you can do.

Yes. I went in there right after they opened and their craft beer selection basically included a couple of sixers of Deschutes and a few Left Hand/New Belgium offerings. I was sad.

Sweet, guess it's officially on my list now.

Also, anyone seen a show at the old bowling alley/ice rink by the circle yet? Highly doubt that place will last too long.

I'm either going to hit up the Brewfest thing or I'm going to watch Final Four at the Rooster and let that roll right into the King Bucks at 10pm. If I go to the Rooster I'll probably go solo so come on by if you want to get your drink on.

i thought salsa fuego was meh. went there after it was voted some best mezican food in fort worth or something. not bad and worth the visit and beef can probably tell you what to get.

one off the beaten path place i like is the thai restaurant close to sprouts at the strip mall on Hulen/I-20. it's damn good and pretty well priced.

let's be honest and admit that salsa fuego's food may be worth it but they aren't going to win any sanitary awards.

So that Studio 80 place next to the Grotto on University has a banner advertising "COMING SOON: BREAKFAST STARTING AT 6AM".

Because that's where I want to go to breakfast, a 1980s dance club.

Seems like such a bizarre and curious business decision that I almost want to check it out, if for nothing else than the train wreck factor.

W7th. Patrizio's and all those other options took it down. Sardine's was great in it's original location. i went there with my wife several times when we were dating. cheap house bottle of wine and the 3 piece band was allsome. food was a bit overpriced imo but the place was original and had character.

Agreed on the reason. I just think it's funny because IMO Patrizio's sucks big time.

it's nothing special. it's not bad, but i enjoyed the $#@! out of sardine's for the single reason that it WAS NOT Patrizio's. whether Fort Worthians want to admit it, losing places like sardine's makes it more like dallas than not.

    gagree.

I can't wait for Friday. Not going to the Ballpark, hell not even a Rangers fan. But I have the day off of work and I plan to sit outside somewhere with a cold one and watch Opening Day.

I went to Salsa Fuego for the first time last night.

I had the carne asada enchiladas and buddy had the beef fajitas. Pretty solid place. I don't know about best in the state and all that, but it was solid. Will probably make it into the rotation. Not a big fan of the mole salsa or whatever the hell that was that came with the chips. But I can look past that if the dinner's good.

  34. #834
went to woodshed fri night and it was packed. kind of a sausage fest in there but it doesn't seem like a big chick place with all that game meat. great place to have beverages on a nice day. it will be packed as $#@! during colonial.

Help me down a business dinner for Wednesday Night. There will be 10 people and we are in the sporting good business. Most of the party is staying around 35 and 820, so I was thinking about the Stockyards. We took a couple of these guys to H3 last time, so I am looking for something a little different. This is a very causal group made up mostly older guys, so nothing fancy for these guys.

My boss suggested steak or Mexican, so I thought about Joe T's. I am not the biggest fan, but out-of-towners love it and the weather is suppose to be awesome to sit on the patio this week. The cash only and no reservations suck, but should not be a problem for a 6pm dinner on a Wednesday.

Where you go? West 7th or down town is an option too.

I would choose La Familia over Joe T's...I think Joe T's is highly overrated...

I am familiar with La Familia and use to like it, but the last two meals I have had in there have been well below average. I think Joe T's is a better fit because of the patio, but just have to make sure I have enough cash on me to cover the meal since its cash only at Joe T's.

  40. #840
Have been to La Familia and also thought it was average at best. I'd take them to the patio at Joe T's.

7th is dead on Wednesdays and the restaurants aren't particularly casual. May be better with the weekly ranch concert series at capital.

  41. #841
This is just me but I have never understood the fascination over Joe T's. I prefer Los Vaqueros if I'm in the Stockyards or Uncle Julios if I'm not.

food at joe t's sucks. its popular because it has good outdoor atmosphere and has somehow gotten to be one of the fw restaurants that everyone loves to go to in spite of itself. like railhead.

I'm there every Thursday and the bartender said it was a decent crowd but they were expecting more. I'm sure it will get more popular as it goes on.

They have recently expanded the patio and I think it's one of the best patios in fort worth. It bottles my mind that there's not a bigger happy hour crowd there

And apparently Copeland plays next door after the main show is over. Can't believe the 8.0/Saucer owner $#@!ed that deal up.

not sure why it's so hard to get people to understand nobody goes to joe t's for the food. i'm going there tonight for a function, not because i'm seeking the best mexican cuisine in the southwest. the margaritas are great and get you trashed. chicks show up and look incredibly slutty. the patio is something no other restuarant i've ever been to can offer. enjoy it for what it is, don't try to make it something it's not.

Are they just slutty, or are they slores?

and count me in on the "railhead is pretty meh". my brother-in-law would hit you in the face with a shovel if you told him it was just average cue. i used to be all about angelo's but the last 2 times i've had the rib plate there has been a $#@!load of cartilage in my meat. right now cooper's is my go to.
