January TOTM: The Resolution
Grilled Mahi-Mahi With an arugula salad tossed in a lemon vinaigrette and served with fresh avocado! cotija cheese, and diced mango. Served with Diablo sauce on a corn tortilla.

I don't think this was as good as Naughty Santa, it was next to impossible to actually taste the fish. The trailer park trashy saved the day.

An 8" tortilla (Yea- it's THAT big!) stuffed with a jalapeno sausage link & smoked beef brisket. Topped with a fried egg, shredded cheese, Green Chile Queso, cilantro, queso fresco, sour cream AND Diablo Hot Sauce.

I was really disappointed by the Ace of Spades. It was clearly a case of the whole being less than the sum of its parts.

Ate at Torchy's Houston yesterday for the first time. Had a baja shrimp and democrat. Both were good (baja shrimp was best) but not as amazing as I remember from Austin. Biggest problem for me was the corn tortillas, which just weren't very good. I will be back someday but it's not worth the insane crowds/parking cluster$#@! they're getting right now.

Everything is overpowering. The jalapeno sausage is overpowering. The diablo sauce is overpowering. The brisket . . . well, the brisket just isn't very good. But the entire thing is such a damned jumble it's impossible to enjoy the whole.

Hmm, I gave this place another shot. Had some queso and a dirty Sanchez. Queso was good...decent amount of spiciness.

The taco was ok, nothing mind blowing. Not sure I see what the big deal is. Perhaps I need to go a third time before writing this place off.
