    That does look epic! I have played both through multiple times and dont know a collector from a reaver. At first in ME1 I thought the collectors were husk computer ships then in ME2 the Reavers were like bug eyed moth men though the collectors were still behind them till it shows a $#@!roach flying the collector ship. $#@! it, Heavy warp- Inferno bullets, eat $#@!.

    The game had the best technology fluff anywhere, war sci-fi without the cliche of WWII/modern naval battles or the victorian era broadsides is $#@!ing great.

    Too bad about the rest, but the story is ok.

    Yeah, I wasn't too into ME1, but thought ME2 was one of the better games I've played in a long time. I would be more effusive about the game, but Skyrim has muted my enthusiasm for other games... just can't imagine a game comparing to Skyrim for a while, but I look forward to being proved wrong. Anyway, I'm still super pumped for this game, and I'm sure this will be in the top few games I've played in 2011-12. Also, I look forward to boning the evil chick, whoever that may be.

    Played for about 3 hours this afternoon. Story is just starting to take shape. I've been playing the original leading up to this one to get a different saved character to take through the trilogy, and the evolution is really something.

    So far, so good. Quite a bit on continuity in terms of control, and the new progression and weapons upgrade systems look pretty dope.

    I played through them both and don't recall much other than I hooked up with the Australian girl from Chuck. Judging by the rock paper shotgun review, there are quite a few nods to past story arcs and characters, so I'm concerned I'll miss much of it.

    I was in your boat about three weeks ago. Decided to pick up used copies of the first game and then bought the Platinum version of ME2 for $20. Amazing series. Yes, you should really play from the beginning to fully appreciate it. It's really epic.

    Hmmm, judging by the metacritic scores, its getting hammered like Dragon Age 2. I wish I could tell how much of that is specific to the game, and how much of it carry over from disappointment in DA 2 and Bioware's silly day 1 DLC.

    Mass Effect 2 is one the best games I have ever played. Up there with Final Fantasy VII and Chrono Trigger.

    That's mostly people pissed about DLC. Sorry folks, but it's 2012 and this is electronic arts. You could have the entire population of the earth chanting in unison and it wouldn't do a damn thing.

    From what I've readies not necessary to play the first two but I'd highly recommended. Plus I'm just anal like that and need to play ME2 before ME3. Same way with Dead Space, haven't played #2 because I've been putting off finishing the first one for a year.

    While I agree that the metacritic user score is a breath of fresh air considering the payola VG media, that said it still is a bit of trolling from 4chan /v/.

    I hated Mass Effect 2, and I doubt I will play ME3 unless its practically free (I would just rather read the novelization over what they consider gameplay), but I would not give it a 0 out of 10.
