3 putt -- I bought the chicken breasts yesterday evening. I put a couple of them in a marinade of my own concoction this morning. The marinade consists of red wine vinegar and soy sauce (sometimes I use worcestershire sauce). Keep it simple. There is a marinade thread somewhere.
When I actually cook it, I roll the cut chicken chunks around in the wok with a little oil along with sliced onions and minced garlic. I usually cook the veggies separately and set the meat to the side. It's not too much of a problem because you can put the wok lid over the meat to keep your meat warm while you stir fry your veggies. I like to keep the veggies and meat separate while I cook so you don't mix your flavors and just make slop.
What's great about a wok is that you can cook every item in about 2-3 minutes each.
She's at work now. If I see her this evening, then I will ask her if she is willing to have dinner. She will almost certainly say yes. Whether it is today, tomorrow, or the next day; the chicken will be even better the longer that it marinates.
Some people say that I am playing this right and some people say that I am playing it wrong. We'll see.

The current gf won't like me having dinner with another woman, but she has met my neighbor and knows that we have spent time together. I think the gf already is jealous and has anxiety. Both of these relationships will diaf anyway. The writing is already on the wall for a variety of reasons regarding the current relationship. Unfortunately, it's going to be c'est la vie and happy trails with both of them.
Anyway, I talked to my neighbor about 20-30 minutes ago and she said that she would come over somewhere between 8 and 8:30 tomorrow night after yoga. That's cool. She gave me a big hug and said she would be glad to come over. We have done it before. Oh well, I'll have a variety of cuisine for her to eat so she can pick and choose.
Sounds like everything is in order for tomorrow, godspeed Grendel. Have you considered busting out your pitching wedge for a series of ball-trapping tricks to help seal the deal?

Well, that "date" is over. She arrived with another bottle of wine at about 8 p.m. She left a few minutes ago.
I had cut up a chicken breast and marinated it for a day in red wine vinegar and soy sauce and cut the onion, garlic, red bell pepper, and shredded the carrots earlier this afternoon. I didn't cook the veggies because it only takes a few minutes to cook them in the wok. I didn't know exactly when she would show up. I had the rice cooked earlier.
We drank a couple of glasses of wine before the meal.
And, oddly enough, she cooked the entire meal with the veggies in the wok and the chicken in one of my black cast iron skillets. She added the rice from another pot into the wok to make stir-fried rice. Oh, and she threw in some of my recently shelled pecans to the veggie mix.
We had another half glass of wine after the meal. We had nice conversations during the evening. I got a few good hugs out of it. That is all.

Lady, Well of course I am not going to post any pics but I know you are joking. Regarding the moral code, I just can't attempt to move on her considering our current relationships; not that it didn't cross my mind. Hey, I'm human.
I'm probably delusional but the lower buttons of her shirt were open and she fiddled with them as if she were drawing attention to her exposed waist. She's athletic and in good shape. Obviously, I have very little clue as to what goes through the mind of a woman. The multiple hugs were curious.
Dagmar, Yes, definitely in the friend zone. I thought about asking her if she wanted to sleep at my house last night and offer her coffee and breakfast in the morning, but she has a boyfriend. She and he have already found a place in California and committed money for the move. However, she expressed a lot of anxiety about the move and living with a guy 24/7/365, which she has never done.
She doesn't want to marry him and she doesn't want kids (not that there is anything wrong with that). I kind of have to wonder what she is doing with her life and her relationship, but it's for her to choose.
This might sound weird, but to sum it all up, I simply consider last night as "practice." Got to keep the game in shape.
Last thing, I'm glad that she did the cooking so that she could make the food how she liked. I had everything chopped and prepared, but she seemed to get a kick out of cooking in the wok and cast iron skillet.

And, she cooked it and had brought a bottle of wine. She said that she liked cooking in a wok because she doesn't have one.

here's my tip: now that you KNOW what those clues are, the next time a woman shows those clues to you, try and kiss her. it doesn't matter how awkward of an attempt - trust me, they already know you're no casanova. if it's met w/ resistance, just fall back and apologize - "sorry, i just thought you were so beautiful and that it was the right time to kiss you." no harm, no foul, and likely an "it's ok, you just surprised me."

Apparently you don't know anything about Chinese cooking in a wok. It only takes 5-6 minutes to stir fry your meal (not counting the time it takes to cook the rice).
All of the food was ready and prepared.
So, I don't think there was much of a problem with doing a little yard work since I didn't know when she was going to arrive within a 30-45 minute window.
I already had all of my food prepared if she actually showed up. What else do you want me to do?

Train, ?what was I working on? My lawn mower is a push mower with the circular/curved blades. (I'm an environmentalist so I don't use gasoline, except in my truck of course and other rare occasions with the weed eater and the blower.) Grass becomes entangled in the gears and wheels when I mow. I was using a saw and a knife to un-entangle them to take out the grass.
When she arrived, I put the lawn mower in the garage and worked on it the next day. Doing that took about 10 seconds and we proceeded to a nice dinner.
All of the food was prepared and ready. She brought wine, cooked the meal, and we had a nice evening. Everything worked out fine.
