damn guide. Decent matchup though
Gray's first 6 carries of the game: 133 yards and 4 tds.
Not sure on the attempts but
1790 rushing yards, 33 rushing TDs
213 receiving yards, 3 TDs
He won't be able to break the yards records because he is only playing half the season.
How do his stats through 7 games this year compare to his 1st 7 games last year?
dunno, but he played with a bum shoulder half of last season. Many were shocked he played so well in the championship game because of it.
Thanks - assuming Max preps stats are correct, his 1st 7 games last year looked like:
9.75 / carry
He finished the last 3 games of the regular season with an add'l:
12.75 / carry
If he mirrored that finish this year, you are talking approx 2600 yards and 47 TDs in 10 games, averaging less than 20 carriess a game.
Aledo's Johnathan Gray becomes third player in nation to score 1,000-plus points, moves into top 3 in rushing in Texas

Week after week, Aledo running back Johnathan Gray is putting on record-breaking performances as if it's commonplace.
Last week, in a six-touchdown performance in Aledo's 73-30 win over Fort Worth Boswell, Gray passed a few more landmarks.
He became just the third high school player in the nation to break the 1,000-point barrier, with a 36-point outburst putting his career total at 1,028 -- just behind No. 2 on the list, former North Carolina State running back T.A. McLendon (1,076).
Gray's 243 rushing yards, on an absurd 14 carries, moved him into third in rushing yards in Texas history, with a career total of 8,883 moving him past Calallen's Wes Danaher (8,855).
Gray has rushed for 1,880 yards on just 130 carries, averaging a mind-boggling 14.46 yards per carry.
Earlier this season, Gray broke Cayuga RB Traylon Shead's state mark for touchdowns and the Texas career-points record of Sugarland's Ken Hall.
According to the National High School Sports Record Book, Gray is now just 218 points behind the all-time record holder -- former Michigan Wolverine and Indianapolis Colt Mike Hart, who scored 1,246 points at Nedrow Onondaga (NY) from 2000-03.
That's a huge gap -- 36 1/3 touchdowns -- more than most players score in their careers, but Gray might have an outside shot, as ridiculous as that sounds with just three games left in the regular season. But, if Gray can keep his current scoring pace, and Aledo can make it to the Class 4A Division I final, as it has for the last two seasons, it's possible. Gray has not had a game with fewer than four scores all season, scoring 36 in seven games (a clip of 5.14 per game).
If Gray does manage to break the all-time scoring record, a lot of other records would fall by the wayside. It would shatter Ken Hall's single-season state scoring record (395 points, 1953), pass McClendon's national single-season record of 71 touchdowns, and put Gray close to the nation's single-season points holder, Sheridan (Ind.) running back Brett Law (453 points, 1988).
Even the Texas rushing record seems assailable, albeit under the same constructs. Gray's career total of 8,883 yards is 2,349 behind the Hall's record. A large total, surely, but assuming nine more games, that's 261 yards per game. Gray is averaging 268 yards per game at this point.

In other words, Gray is a $#@!ing BEAST.
Any word on if he graduates HS early and enrolls at UT at the start of the spring semester???
Haven't seen him mentioned as a possibility. I'd be that he stays to run track.
If he's a real athlete Brewer should be able to run a competitive 400m for Arizona Highschool.
ESPN updated their #150, Gray up to #5 and the #1 RB now in the country. Most of the rankings haven't changed too much though.
Who do they play tonight?
Is this the dumbest thing ever written? Top 5?36 1/3 touchdowns
There is no doubt that Gray is the more complete/better back between Malcolm and him compared as high schoolers. We've already seen what Malcolm can do as a freshman... I'm $#@!ing pumped to see both of them in the same backfield.
okay, my prediction for Gray for tonight's game:
15 rushes, 8 touchdowns, 455 yards, two ladies during half-time.

He has 4 TD's so far with Aledo winning 42-3 halfway thru the 3rd QTR. 3 long TD's called back by penalty tonight.
8.4 ypa what is this nonsense. I want 20 yards per Johnathan.
Don't forget the 3 catches for 128 and 1 TD. Appears he made some yards on catches last night.

Birdville is 7-1 and their D is only giving up 146 yards a game on the ground. I expect Gray to get 350.
I'm going to set the over/unders at:
50 yard plus runs: 2
First play from scrimmage vs Birdwell...gray 60+ yards to the house. Lol wow wasn't even trying
108 yards 3 td in the first quarter. Unreal
4 touchdowns now, 11:42 left in the 2nd quarter.
5 touchdowns before the end of the 1st half.
These $#@!ing refs need to protect him. That's two cheap shots on this drive. 7 TDs, though.
Asked about him and malcolm brown having talked, after the game "we had intercourse..."
