It was funny, but 20 to 30 minutes too long just like every other flick Apatow is involved in.

meh at best. Don't get all the hype that I heard especially from people on this board. Granted there were a couple of funny scenes, but Wiig's schtick grows tired and the movie is way too long. And comparisons to Hangover don't even make sense, they're not even close to the same movie except it's about a wedding party and definitely not as funny.
and P.S. Maya Rudolph is fugly. barf.
Wife went with her mother to see it. They loved it.
I'll just wait for the video...
The Hangover has legs. I travel a lot, and it's always something I can pull up on my tablet and get a laugh out of.
It's not the best comedy of all time, but most of Zach G's scenes are funny every time. "Thanks a lot, Bin Laden."
Saw Bridesmaids this weekend. Solid flick for sure. B+ for me. The fitting scene and the bedroom scene (right after the credits start) both brought me to tears.
It definitely had it's funny moments (most of which involved Megan), but there were too many long stretches of complete boredom.
I'm not gargling hangover's balls, I just don't understand why these two movies are being compared. They are totally different movies to me.
And Bridesmaids isn't close to the funniest movie all time either so u can stop gargling bridesmaids balls
Tapatalka-hi, tapatalky-ho
think about it guys, you got tricked into watching a movie about bridesmaids !
the joke is on you
I didnt say they copied the hangover. If you cant see that the advertising is piggy-backing off the success of the hangover I'm not sure what to tell you. Its not a big deal, certainly not worth getting your panties in a wad. Its just my opinion on what they were trying to do with the previews.
"Let me know when your boobs come in."
"Let me know when yours do."
just saw this and it was nowhere as funny as hangover! meh at best, as someone already said!
Its funny to me that people defend the re-watch ability of The Hangover pt.1, and then bash the Hangover pt.2 for being a scene for scene remake. Thats what Ive insisted all along: hangover was funny once, really funny. after that, it doesnt hold up well. Its an overrated movie.
Bridesmaids and The Hangover are not at all alike. - Other than Krisen Wiig in Bridesmaids, the cast is a bunch of rather unattractive women. It's painfully obvious the casting was meant to ensure that women felt that this was a movie meant for them. That these were average looking women.
Sure Zack isnt a classic leading man, but Bradley Cooper can play the part. And there are some hot chicks in the movie. What's my point? It's easier on the eyes. And fellas, we're watching that movie probably a lot more than we'll be watching Bridesmaids in 2 years.
The Hangover is not a character driven story. It's really simple - 3 guys try to piece together clues in order to figure out where their friend disappeared to the night before his wedding.
Bridesmaids IS character driven. It's all about a chick's life falling apart as her best friend gets married and she hits rock bottom.
I saw Bridesmaids this evening at a screening packed full of women. It got great laughs and the story didn't tie itself up in an incredibly predictable way, but that's alright. The movie loves to linger on final reaction shots in dramatic scenes which is where the pacing gets a hit and a few of the jokes late ran long as we knew what the outcome was just because they ran so long (the driving by the cop scene 10X or whatever it was). That should have been 4 best gags tops before the tap.
It'll probably make my top 20 of the year.

Byrne is hot. Kemper is cute. The two should not be compared to each other.
If you think Kristen Wiig is better looking than Rose, I really, really hope you get help.

some scenes were cute, other were really funny, some awkward, gross, and cool scenes. i thought it was a really good movie. i'll probably see it again.
We dropped off our boys at my mother-in-laws yesterday (Memorial Day) and went to watch it at Alamo Drafthouse Village. SOLD OUT. Damn, we even got there ~40min early. That sucks. We ended up going to Z Tejas in the Arboretum instead. The chicken fried ribeye was pretty good but damn did want to watch it. It looked like yesterday was a pretty popular day to watch a movie.
Ellie Kemper and Kristen Wiig are both cute, and Rose Byrne is hot. Maya Rudolph is just......ugh. I'm not entirely convinced she's a woman.
supposed to be watching the movie today.... have a gift card for 2 movie passes for Alamo Drafthouse that expire on july 1 that i need to use. high bidder in a silent auction last august. don't get to the movies much, ha.
Terrible this movie.
Rickey Gervais was the only saving grace.
for a chick flick had more potty humor than i thought it would (not that i didn't laugh). wiig's character really went bat $#@! crazy there. maybe a bit more than what was needed.
I saw it the other day. It was pretty good. Funnier than most of the comedies I've seen recently.
Hangover 2 > Bridesmaids.
There. I said it.
Bridesmaids >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Hangover 2. BM was $#@!ing hilarious. Hangover 2 was the same exact movie in another country
Okay I just got back from the film and Bridesmaids is easily a better film than the Hangover just for those two points you mentioned alone. To me a good comedy needs to be funny, but it also has to have some character to it which The Hangover lacked completely. In Hangover I don't see any character growth at all throught the film. Bridesmaids manages to be funny and have developing characters. My 3 favorite comides of the last 5 years: Knocked Up, 40 Year Old Virgin and Bridesmaids all have at least someone having character growth along with the funny. Hangover is just a bunch of guys doing stupid $#@!. Also this movie was a lot more relateable for me, although that isn't a fair perspective since I am a female.

Just saw Bridesmaids and I thought it was hilarious. Yeah, Wiig's character went bat$#@!, and while it was extreme, people can relate.
Saw it, thought it was hilarious. Not as funny as a lot of you guys thought it was though... I still like the Hangover more but Bridesmaids is definitely awesome too. Agree with the people who said it was about 20 mins too long. Way too many lingering shots at the ends of scenes, making it feel too girly/rom-com-y. But, seeing as how I am a girl, I didn't hate the rom-com aspect. I would give this movie a 8.5/10 while Hangover still has a 9 or 9.5/10 from me.
saw it last night. movie was ok. wife loved the movie, surprise. i thought it had it's moments but i wanted to punch the main character in the face, repeatedly. i found it hard to root for her and wanted her to die. selfish $#@!. as others stated, 2 hours of watching a selfish bitch being a selfish bitch is too much to bear, even w/ the funny parts.
The fat girl needs to be in more stuff. She stole that movie.
Saw it last night with my wife and it was damn funny. One of the funniest parts was Kristen Wiig pretending she wasn't sick from the Brazilian food and then trying to eat that candy almond.
By the way, Wiig is damn hilarious.
And that fat girl stole every scene she was in.
