I hope he gets a 2 hour set so he can work through his Nick Mason issues via solo stuff (I do like Bravery of Being out of Range) and then focus on some damn Floyd!
This presale $#@! gets more and more annoying each year.
When do we usually get at least SOME idea of who may play?
well Black Keys will be there. So I'm buying. Though I get a sneaking suspicion that our new football schedule will $#@! the October plan. All in all, I think it'll still be in a better time of year though...
My friend just bet me $50 that Radiohead will be in Austin for ACL. I hope I lose.
You think ACL would ever expand into two weekends the way Coachella just did? The way ticket prices keep increasing each year I'd hope that would be the case.
they've been talking about adding a thursday to the overall festival, but they don't feel 2 weekends is plausible. It's difficult to find two consecutive weekends in Austin in late September-early October where there are no other major events taking place (UT football, other various autumnal festivals, etc.).
Why would that piss me off again? Everybody else but me enjoys rising ticket prices, I guess?
Every year I hope Peter Gabriel will headline.
yep, just my plans. The other 101,999 fans would be totally cool with it.
Ok when the hell are tix on sale again? Feels like it should be soon
Anyone know when the lineup will be announced? It's been early May the last couple of years. That's when the tix go on sale.
announcement of almost the complete lineup is happening in early-to-mid May. They're still two headliners shy and scrambling to fill those spots.
yes. i absolutely do. also, cruiser has lots of male sex with charles attal, so i believe him. <(:>
GABF is sounding much more enticing this year.
well not scrambling persay, but this is certainly the latest they've gone without getting all 5 big names set. Black Keys are secured though, that's all I really give a $#@! about as far as headliners go. The other 2 I heard were as exciting to me as Bjork.
who is it? beach boys? fleetwood mac? randy newman?
If seeing the Black Keys was exciting with 20,000 other people, I would have done it yesterday.

Yeah, plus their last album was trite garbage
Right? I thought it was just me.Yeah, plus their last album was trite garbage
I watched it because I enjoy their music and have for quite some time. But I know what you mean, that became way too crowded way too quickly.
Yep, I crave your e-cred. I've been posting $#@! like this going back almost 10 years to hornfans. He throws me some information, some he tells me needs to stay in the vault. some he could care less if I post. I'll go get one more this week to make sure I can still hang out in your treehouse after homeroom. What I love is every year watching all the half-rumors fly back and forth about how this is really the year for Radiohead or that there'll be an all dubstep stage or how so-and-so is gonna jam on-stage with Bob Dylan.
each year I put up about 2-4 bands of mid-bill to headliner and they all come true. Whether or not you believe me is of paramount importance to me, as always.
Instead of spending your dollars in $#@! festivls like ACL, buy them for Psych Fest.
Not saying anything on Radiohead. Watching people swear back and forth on the whether or not they are coming is too much damn fun.
I'm going to throw this against the wall and see if it sticks:
Jack White will be a headliner at ACL.
was literally just an old-school contract pile of $#@!. Neil was used to one way of things. C3 was used to another. things were progressing and people were moving under that assumption, including my buddy designing a whole stage just for Neil. And then, not just money-but the other bull$#@!-set the whole thing ablaze a few months before. Apparently was quite close, but there you go. most bands, because they are at end of season, get some calculated portion of what it takes to bring them from their current tour to Austin. And in this day and age, it's a weird deal because some come by bus and some by air, and hotels, and per diem, and all that bull$#@!. Neil politely asked for basically an uplant fee to up and take everybody he needed from where he was to Austin and back again. He was used to that. But hiccups occurred. Nobody fought more than my buddy who sits just below the charlies. But egos collided and it burned up.
All that to say, Radiohead? Hmmm....maybe. Hmm........let's see. ...........................
the last show he played was in July 2011. you already implied that Neil demanded that acl pay for transport of his whole current tour to Austin. There was no current tour.
also, no promoter is going to go as far as designing a stage for a performer unless it is under contract. And no performer is going to sign a contract unless the entire crew and tour's transportation is taken care of.
