My little brother and a friend of mine are waiting for a price drop (it's been known to sell for $20 on Black Friday). Apparently the lockout has really turned a lot of people off which is sad because this game is possibly the best sports game I've ever played.

yeah I'm holding off due to the new releases that I want/ed on day1. also there hasn't been any price drops that they usually have for 2k or sports games in general.

probably gonna have to wait till black friday since BF3 is out, MW3 is out in 2 weeks and Skyrim in 2.5 weeks.

We can start it up any time, just need to figure out the details like quarter length, difficulty level, games per season, etc.

Speed threw out the idea of a full 82 game season set on the "fast" advancement schedule. I don't have a problem with it other than it seems like a ton of our games will result in sims and our records wouldn't be an accurate reflection of our level of success/suckyness.

I cool with whatever as far as season length. I am partial to things that give accurate season numbers so 82 games would be my preference.

I think quarter length should be about 7-8 to get more true game numbers. When we ran 5 mins the games were only getting to about 50-60 pts and there was very little need to use your bench.

Like we talked about in the PMs the difficultly level that we played on before sucked just because it kinda "cheated" with easy blown layups and turnovers where the players just lost the ball completely untouched. It was to a point it really wasn't even fun. I don't expect to win every game but I don't expect to want to put my foot through my xbox out of frustration.

I don't think its takes an hour but I've never timed it. 7 mins should still work I imagine.

I can set it up when I get home from work tonight, unless you are home. The sooner someone can start it the better because it also has that stupid mandatory wait window (I think it's 18 hours or something like that) before it allows you to play any games.

no Miami Heat. it's unfair.

3 big time players with big time salaries that can be massive trading chips. I'd almost be inclined to say no Lakers either but at least their star is trending down.

other than that, I don't think we need to try and evenly split the users... everyone can pick which ever conference they want, even now with just the 4 teams picked there are 2 West and 2 East.

as for my team, I gotta decide that.

yeah mainly because there is no other team in the NBA that has a 99, 96 and 81 trio of super stars. the knicks are Melo 88 and Amar'e 83, the next highest is Chandler at 77. even the lakers are Bryant 94, bynum and gasol are both 83s.

so if I were the Heat, I could decide to trade Wade at 96 with a $15.5mil contract and trade him for a ton. even if say I picked up 2 players that were high 70's and 1 mid 80's center... I'd be set even more so than I would be with 2 guards in the high 90's.

that and while Melo/kobe/dirk/whoever can shoot lights out, they aren't insane like LeBron and Wade are in this game.

Bosh isn't really anything special. I would say Westbrook and KD are almost as good LBJ/Wade and then having Harden and Ibaka makes them just as good if not better than the Heat IMO.

yeah, OKC could be considered a Miami Heat lite. even then Durant 94, Westbrook 88, Harden 80. the problem isn't so much in that the player is "unstoppable" outside of LeBron, its that their potential "trade value" is massive. Westbrook while an 88 is only around $3mil this year, it'd be harder to move him for multiple "key" pieces than it would be Bosh at 81 but with a $16mil release from the teams cap.

no other team that I can think of have that trio of players that combined great,great,good ratings with near identical contracts designed to even up their teams cap hit at $15.5 - 16Mil. that's the main reason I consider them to have a combination of unfair advantages.

that being said my team selection won't worry too many ppl more than likely. I'm deciding between the Wiz, 76ers, Spurs and Warriors...

Yeah, I will double check the setting when I get home but at the very least whatever the middle speed is. More likely the fastest.

we just did the math here in the office and at 6 hour advances it should take roughly 29 days to "sim" through the entire 25 week season(roughly 2.5 games a day). if we were to do the "normal" speed 16 hour advances, it would take roughly 110 days to "sim" through the season(roughly 1.5 games a day.

I vote for fast advance, I know we will probably have 50% sim depending on the week but at least we can have this moving along at a month rather than finishing sometime this summer.

24 weeks (approx season length) X 7 (days in a week) = 168 days in a season
1 day real time = 4 2K12 calendar days
168 / 4 = 42 days real time

So we're basically looking at a month and a half. Not bad for an 82 game season.

Oh, and if you're a psychopath who would want to play every game you'd have to average 2 games per day (1.95).

when nick young goes to the bench I have no threat to drive with authority, I had deron williams scrambling with Wall but Wall cannot go aggressive inside.

Since my lil brother is taking his sweet ass time to join, our would be user game got simmed, I got the w though so it's all good.
