Jurell Thompson went to TCU (in jail for cocaine currently), Eric Ward is playing at TTU, Beaver is now at Midwestern. I really like the play at :58 in that video. That $#@! would eat a lot of the defenses we face alive. Why we do not run plays through the center of these defenses I do not know

The Barret film is ridiculous, don't get me wrong. But does the guy ever throw from the pocket with his feet set? Even on quick throws he's moving and throwing unbalanced. Very Case McCoy-like.

In watching some of Swoopes junior highlights, don't know that it is such a clear choice. Watched the sophomore highlights and saw some good things but his senior highlights are way improved and while the competition is 2A, this kid power cleans 285 and runs a 4.51 at 6'4" 220, as a high school junior. He has Vince like skills, but I agree may be playing down to the competition.
I can't even begin to explain the Loan Oak loss. I almost hope he was knocked out of the game.
Watching him run on his latest highlight reel makes me think he can pretty much be an all star caliber position at about a half a dozen positions including, WR, TE, FS, SS, DE, and OLB. He plays safety in several of the highlights and just skies for the INT.
He also seems to have that explosive acceleration from stop and like VY, takes hits at an angle lets them glance off him, but like VY will occasionally lower the shoulder pads and just run you over. Wish there was a way we could take both. Barrett is more college ready now, but Swoopes could be VY special by his redshirt sophomore year.
She's definitely a dirty whore, but that wouldn't stop me from banging that butthole into submission.
Haha. That episode was funny as hell. Yeah, Shavodrick and his mother decided it was best if he stayed somewhat closer to home, which is why he originally went to Tulsa. But, he saw the writing on the wall being behind Kinne, so now he's playing at MSU. I couldn't find any of his stats for this season, so i'm not sure how he did. Being a Rider grad, you know i'm pulling for Barrett to go to UT. I've asked around, and his friends say that if he gets a UT offer that's where he's going.

You'll find yourself, at least I do, saying that about many recruits and their videos.
Problem with that is at the rate our QB recruiting has gone the last couple years, if Brewer isn't as good as everyone thinks, the QB from this class could play early too
Would be nice if we could offer Barrett strictly as a QB, but Swoopes as an athlete with first position shot at QB. I think both are great QB's, but I think Swoopes has higher upside, IF he has the drive and mind for the game. 6'4, 220 with 4.51 speed and already power cleaning 285 pounds and still has a year of high school left to get stronger, faster, and hopefully more instinctive and smarter in the game is very intriguing.
Still though, Barrett may be the safer choice, but I don't want to have a VY versus Reggie McNeal situation and end up with McNeal. Hopefully whichever one the coaches goes after ends up being closer to VY.
I've thought about this as well, and it may go down that way. I could definitely see them offering Swoops as an "athlete" just to have them both on the team. If he doesn't work out at qb, see if he can catch and move him to TE.

Guys, put down the pipes. They are not signing both and one of them isn't going to come on as an athlete. They are going to be two of the highest recruited players in the country and they aren't signing at the same school.

Wow, don't know how I missed this one either. Good looking prospect. Looks alot like "Bird" (Barrett), the QB in the old Wildcats movie. I say take them both, because never know who will shine in game situations at the D1 level. Try them both out at QB and put the one that doesn't work out in the best spot on the team to help us win.

I want Tyrone Swoopes. Of course I have seen no video or Barrett, and have no basis for the evaluation. Just like the idea of having a 6'5 running QB back there again. : )

What he said, based on caliber of competition alone, I say Barrett, but I would LOVE to see both here, then let competition sort them out. If not as a QB, Swoopes could turn into a nice, big safety or WR at the very least.
Actually, I should have written take both and if one or both don't work out as a QB, either could turn into a good S or WR.
