Come on. The guy's points are more than valid. It's actually refreshing to see someone who not only can recognize good evaluators from hacks, but also someone who has the integrity to speak up when they see a guy like Burton doing something immoral. The way he's sensationalizing this situation just to turn a buck, and at the expense of this kid, is disgusting. People in this business aren't supposed to try and make the news, just report it.
Good for cdt23.
Glad they took Swoopes. We might not land RSJ if we didn't have Swoopes. in 2013 we need to take Heard since he's the more polished of the 2 QBs next year.
The absurdity of this thread has hit new heights.
Hearing that JT Barrett has committed to bourbon and the buckeyes.
Interestingly enough, Meyer offered Swoopes first. I wonder what he has in mind with Barrett.
Really excited about JT Barrett. Pretty much a surprise because many thought he would commit over the summer at Urban's "Friday Night Lights" at Ohio State. Rumors are going around Joey Bosa and Alex Anzalone are next. Good week of recruiting
I can definitely wait. Most think Joey is a big lean to OSU right now (has connections too. Uncle played here and his mom graduated here) he really enjoyed his trip last week, and Anzalone just told 24/7 OSU was his leader. Some insiders think he'll commit, I dont know but Urban is looking pretty good with those two.
i think alot of people would be shocked if Anzalone went anywere but Ohio St, same with Bosa. both are very likley to verbal this weekend along with Sheldon Gibson and James Quick
That would be a huge pick up for Meyers. I'm glad JT is leaving the B12 if he's not coming here.
You keep saying this and I disagree completely.
Look I was riding Monroe's jock in the other thread for two reasons:
1) He led my alma mater to the playoffs for the first time.
2) The guy is a stud on the field.
That said, Monroe is extremely raw. He will get better but he will be a raw prospect coming out due to the coaching he receives and the system he runs. He needs to work on several things in his game. My main gripe with him is getting his shoulders turned toward the los on his sprint outs and bootlegs. He will be a 6'4 220 pound player by his senior year, and will improve considerably each year at QB.
That said Heard is the better player right now, but JT was the better player "right now" when we recruited this years crop.
Shepard was faster and quicker than any of these prospects and had the ability to throw as well as Wynona Ryder's vagina. Swoops is the more applicable comparison, but Monroe has been and will be competing in 5A.

just for the gayturd fan, Anzalone made it offical to Ohio St this morning.
from a Buckeye, does anybody know if there is a website i could follow JT Barretts season next year? stats, film, etc?
just like not to be dissappointed if Anzalone didnt end up at Ohio St and you werent sure his parents would let him pick yet right? SAWING and a MISS on that prediction

Mike Farrell @ rivalsmike
Just heard Joey Bosa might very well have committed to # OhioState, will be interested to see if he says it out loud.
Mike Farrell @ rivalsmike
good source on bosa too. # OhioState
lookin like 0-2 on you're unrealistic nimbrod worthless predictions on the board. but keep fooling you're self i guess. you'll be wrong in the end. Florida fans are such idiots
Try this
I was at some seven-on-seven drills, standing on the sidelines, where former Rider Raider and Buffalo Bill David Nelson show up to help out the Rider Raiders in Wichita Falls. Nelson was telling J.T. Barrett about how much of an impact Urban had on his life. J.T. said he felt that Urban seemed like he really cared for his family. It was an interesting conversation to hear.
somebody slip this under burton's door and let's listen for the explosion.
Interesting about Nelson. Because Meyer's former players are all from other schools, they can credibly pretend to be disinterested third parties while actively recruiting for tOSU.
JT Barrett was just featured on College Football Live on ESPNU. They spoke at length about his lack of offer from Texas. He said something along the lines of it making him work harder, and wanting to show Texas what they missed out on.
His film at the Elite 11 camp looked really good. Very good arm, and good speed, but not a lot of size.
I don't blame the player in this case. It is a dumb question for the media ask to begin with: "Why do you think Texas chose Player A instead of you?" The answer is obvious but cannot be spoken.
Maybe, but the Texas coaches loved Barrett and he was easily the second guy in line behind Swoopes. And there are lots of quality QBs in state this year. If they could get Swoopes and Barrett they would have, but didn't want to jeopardize losing Swoopes and that was the bottom line.
Sure, he's a hell of a player, but there are many reasons to like Swoopes more.
The guy I talked to already had their 2013 QB committed, and they liked him more than Barrett, too.
At least Barrett can't come back to haunt us; but Cody Thomas might.
He may end up the best of the 3. I still think we got the best one, but I wish CT would have gone somewhere else.

Sorry for bumping this thread but Barrett left Rider's game last Friday after the first series with a knee injury and heard a little scuttlebutt on another board that it may be a torn PCL and MCL. Anybody heard anything?
I know nothing about his injury, but I do know the #1 concern about him is size and durability.
Curse, or just every single recruit in Texas seems to be getting hurtBad news on OSU QB commit JT Barrett, per @BillKurelic. Barrett has a torn ACL, MCL and meniscus:

Damn, that's $#@!ing brutal. Was he playing on Missouri's field?
What's bad is that while I didn't watch or listen to the game, what I read is that he left after the first possession. He scored a rushing TD and the according to the boxscore ran in a 2 point conversion. He would have had to have been hurt on that conversion. Sucks to suffer that kind of injury to go up 8-0 rather than 7-0.
