so my aunt and uncle went to spring training instead of my wedding (don't blame them). my aunt brought me back a baseball signed (allegedly) by nathan and napoli. pretty cool i suppose, but i'd take meeting them and shaking their hands over a signed baseball any day.

$#@! me...
Texas Rangers outfielder Craig Gentry said he's felt light-headed at times the past few days and will see a doctor today or Tuesday. He could have some sort of virus, but he's not in the lineup for tonight's game.
The Rangers were already in the market for a right-handed hitting outfielder and this may only spur on their attempts to get one. We'll see if Gentry is diagnosed and when he might be able to get back on the field.
Also...
The Rangers have released outfielder Conor Jackson and pitchers Joe Beimel and Mitch Stetter. They have returned pitchers Mark Hamburger and Sean Green to the Minor Leagues. Brad Hawpe is still in camp.
SIAP but is anyone going to the Dell Diamond to watch the Rangers vs Express scrimmage next Monday?
....Manager Ron Washington said the Rangers are looking for a right-handed bat here in the waning days of Spring Training. The Rangers were hoping Conor Jackson could be that candidate but they released him on Monday.
“We’re looking to fill whatever weaknesses we can fill,” Washington said. “If we can’t fill it inside, we’ll look outside. Clubs are always talking.”
I generally avoid all threads started by Derka because they usually suck, but I accidentally clicked on his Cards' one on my tablet... Jesus $#@!, that's what I get.
In other news, here's another article with CJ whining about our lack of interest in re-signing him...
http://www.star-telegram.com/2012/03...s-rangers.html
I won't post the whole thing because he doesn't deserve that much space on this thread, but he does get one part right...
"They hate me in Texas," Wilson said. "If they see the story, they're going to say, 'Why are you writing about him?'"
Anyone watching tonight? Pathetic effort by Ludwick in LF there.
Nice swing by Mitch vs the lefty there.
And then Ian hits a $#@!ing MISSILE out to LF!
Nellie rips a 2-run oppo 2B.
Has been BP the last 2 innings. Scooter doing solid work too.
Yeller has been pretty damn good this spring.
Reds seem like they suck
Looks like my team will finally be on the good side of a 66-3 score.
Scooter/Ogando>>Feliz
Koji pitching today?
Scooter. Jesus.
Holy $#@!, Nathan didn't give up any runs, and even K'd 2.
Counts as a save situation with joe.
Just a reminder that the Rangers are playing the Cincy AA team out there. But yeah...WHooooo HOOOOOOO!
If you're talking about Yu's pic, you're wrong. I really wanted one of Stevens.
Gentry has just pissed me the $#@! off. Like someone said the other day, all he had to do was hit .250, play D, steal some bases, & not $#@!ing get hurt.
Still holding out hope for Snyder if they can't find anything else out there.
With as much of a spare Smoak is, there might be a day that Lowe for Smoak looks good for us EXCLUDING cliff.
Seems like Hawpe will make it if they really want another lefty bat.
They specifically have said they need another RH bat. Hawpe's out date is this Friday morning, he'll be gone by then. Still can't throw from the OF, we don't need 4 1Bs.
Nice $#@!ing jinx, PW! One strike from the shutout, 2-run bomb instead.
Yeah. That was well timed.
No, no I would not. $#@!er.
goddammit.
and they kept $#@!ing showing that on baseball tonight, tonight.
So he still needs a little work...
Snyder plays LF: Brandon Snyder, a right-handed bat, got a chance to play the outfield for four innings Monday. He's a darkhorse in the outfield shuffle, but the club is still looking for a right-handed bat in center. Snyder played in the corner spot Monday, but could get some time at center this week. He doubled to center in his first at-bat and he made a nice diving catch on a ball in left. Snyder didn't exactly take a direct route to the ball.
"It was a heck of a zigzag pattern, but he made the catch," said Washington, chuckling. "I don't think an offensive coordinator could have written that up any better."
8 more days...cant $#@!ing wait.
RoughRiders vs TEX
2:05 PM
in Frisco, TX
This many more days...
*since I couldn't find a good Sundberg or Alicea picture.

Spy, maybe you can have some fun with this on the Astro's board?
http://blog.chron.com/ultimateastros...-pitcher-duke/
The Astros said goodbye to a couple of veterans who were having rough spring trainings, releasing outfielder Jack Cust and lefthanded pitcher Zach Duke.
